Who is going to win the AFC East in 2023?

Bet MGM has released the AFC East division winner odds ahead of 2023:

  1. Buffalo Bills (+130)
  2. New York Jets (+250)
  3. Miami Dolphins (+275)
  4. New England Patriots (+750)

Gang Green has been the team of the NFL offseason after acquiring Aaron Rodgers in a blockbuster trade with the Green Bay Packers. Could the Jets win the divisional crown for the first time in 21 years?

BG: I honestly like the Jets to win it *at these odds,* though I think Buffalo will be really good and that *one of these years,* they’ll make a Super Bowl run.

To me, a solid pro-Jets argument = this will be a close race, the Jets will be a double-digit-win team, and they have a chance to win it if they get a few breaks.

My question for you: Say the Jets and Bills had identical odds. Who are you taking in that scenario?

Fair points all around. Bills have won it 3 straight times so I imagine that’s where people will lean. However Aaron Rodgers, this defense, this skill group? I have the Jets winning it at 12-5, Bills ever so slightly behind with 11-6

I think the addition of Rodgers plus the talented defense makes the Jets a legit contender for the division. If I were a Jets fan, my biggest question would be, how confident are we in the NYJ’s tackle combo protecting Rodgers vs the various pass rush duos in the division?

So my question is for BoyGreen:

The Jets have a championship with now with Rodgers but in reality I see him only playing at most 3 more seasons before retirement

My question is with all the young talent now, what’s the future plan for QB after Rodgers? How can they keep the winning going even without Rodgers? They won’t be bad to get a top pick, so do you sacrifice some young talent in the future to hopefully get a long term QB solution I’m curious about your thoughts

If you had to rank the ten best players between the two teams, who has more on the list right now?

One thing that shows up in the analytics is the Jets’ defense. Can they keep that play up from last year? They had a historically healthy Defense from a snaps-missed perspective. Can the offense carry them if they need to this season? I still always lean for the offense that is proven.

Two-part question for both Emily and BG:

1. Who’s winning the Jets-Bills game Week 1?

2. How important is that game to each team’s divisional chances?

Really looking forward to this BG!!!

Question 1 for Emily – As a bills reporter do you see the Bills FanBase looking at the Jets as an actual threat in the division this season? (If Yes is that solely because of Rodgers or the team as a whole?)

Question 2 for BG – Let’s say worse case scenario and praying none of this happens but what if Aaron Rodgers was not a healthy or injured for a Bills matchup do you think the Jets would still have a chance to beat the Bills with ZW as the Qb?

Thanks Guys!
