The Oklahoma City Thunder and Golden State Warriors have built an interesting rivalry in recent years. This is largely due to one superstar vs. superstar matchup, and the two teams will square off again on the NBA’s opening night.

The game is scheduled to start at 10:30 p.m. ET and will be broadcast nationally on TNT. If you don’t have cable or can’t get to a TV, you can watch a live stream of the game (or DVR it) on your computer, phone or streaming device via one of the following cable-free, live-TV streaming services:

FuboTV

TNT is one of 85 channels included in the main Fubo bundle, which is tailored towards sports. You can sign up for a free 7-day trial right here, and you can then watch a live stream of the game on your computer via the FuboTV website, or on your phone, tablet or streaming device via the FuboTV app.

If you can’t watch live, FuboTV comes with 30 hours of Cloud DVR (with the ability to upgrade to 500 hours), as well as a “72-Hour Lookback” feature, which allows you to watch games up to three days after they air even if you forgot to record them.

Hulu With Live TV

In addition to a Netflix-like on-demand streaming library, Hulu also offers a bundle of 50-plus live TV channels, including TNT. You can sign up for “Hulu with Live TV” right here, and you can then watch a live stream of the game on your computer via the Hulu website, or on your phone, tablet or streaming device via the Hulu app.

If you can’t watch live, “Hulu with Live TV” comes with 50 hours of Cloud DVR storage (with the ability to upgrade to “Enhanced Cloud DVR,” which gives you 200 hours of DVR space and the ability to fast forward through commercials).

Sling TV

TNT is included in both the “Sling Orange” and “Sling Blue” channel packages. You can sign up for a free 7-day trial of either, and you can then watch the game live on your computer via the Sling TV website, or on your phone, tablet or streaming device via the Sling TV app.

If you can’t watch live, you can get 50 hours of cloud DVR storage as an additional add-on.

Unfortunately for NBA fans who were pining to see Russell Westbrook square off with Kevin Durant in one of the league’s best rivalries, that won’t happen on opening night. Westbrook will miss the game as he continues to rehab from arthroscopic knee surgery.

Even without Westbrook, the matchup between the Thunder and Warriors should be a fun one with plenty of points scored. These two teams squared off four times last season and it was an interesting split series. The Thunder won the first two games of the season by a combined 37 points, but then dropped the final two by 36 points.

As Land of Basketball shows, the all-time series favors the Thunder 137-110, even factoring in that the Warriors won seven-straight from February of 2016 through the end of the 2017 season.

The Warriors have become one of the most dominant franchises in the NBA over recent years, winning three of the last four NBA championships and falling just shy in the fourth year. Golden State also set an NBA record for regular-season wins over that stretch, posting a 73-9 record during the 2015-16 season behind the strong play of Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, Klay Thompson, and a few others.

Golden State’s big three proceeded to add Durant to the mix in free agency after that, taking him from this same Thunder team. But Oklahoma City has bounced back from the loss of the former MVP nicely, winning at least 47 games in each of the past two seasons and rallying behind Westbrook.

The 29-year-old point guard has averaged a triple-double in both of the previous two years, and the addition of Paul George has helped the team on both ends of the floor. Although Westbrook will miss Tuesday’s game, George has stepped up admirably in his absence. In two games last year without his fellow All-Star, George averaged 31 points, 5.5 assists, 5.0 rebounds and 2.5 steals per game, per StatMuse.

A few other key names to watch on both sides include Thunder center Steven Adams, who’s improved in each season as a pro, and newly-acquired guard Dennis Schroder. The former Atlanta Hawks playmaker landed with Oklahoma City as part of the trade which sent Carmelo Anthony out of town.

The NBA is back, which means TNT once again becomes one of the most important channels on the guide. Not only will TNT have multiple games per week, but “Inside the NBA” with Charles Barkley, Shaquille O’Neal, Kenny Smith and Ernie Johnson is must-watch TV.

Fortunately for those of you who don’t have cable, you can still watch NBA games and “Inside the NBA” online via one of the following cable-free, live-streaming services:

FuboTV: Main bundle includes TNT, NBA TV, local sports networks, 85 total channels, 30 hours of cloud DVR, and ability to watch games on-demand up to three days after they air even if you didn’t DVR them. NBA League Pass (watch all out-of-market games) is also available as an add-on.

Hulu With Live TV: Main bundle includes TNT, ESPN, local sports networks, 50 total channels, 50 hours of cloud DVR, and Hulu’s complete library of TV shows and movies.

Sling TV: Sling Orange includes TNT and ESPN, while Sling Blue includes local sports networks. NBA TV, NBA League Pass and Cloud-DVR are available as separate add-ons.

You can sign up via the above links, or you can read on for a more thorough rundown of each service:

FuboTV

FuboTV

Whether you want to watch your hometown team on a local sports network like NBC Sports Bay Area, NBC Sports Boston, Fox Sports Oklahoma or YES Network, or you want to watch nationally televised games on TNT, FuboTV is an excellent streaming service for watching NBA online.

The main “Fubo” channel package includes the local sports network in your area (with a few exceptions), NBA TV and TNT. Plus, if you’re looking to watch out-of-market games, NBA League Pass–which allows you to watch every single out-of-market, non-nationally televised game–can also be included as an add-on.

In terms of user experience, FuboTV has a clean interface that lets you search by sport, a customizable guide that lets you move favorite channels to the top, the ability to watch on two different screens at once, 30 hours of cloud DVR, and perhaps most importantly, a handy “72-hour lookback” feature, which lets you watch games on-demand up to three days later even without recording them.

Total Channels Included: About 85 (exact number depends on local channels available), including TNT

Pricing Options: The main “Fubo” package costs $39.99 for the first month, and then $44.99 per month after that. NBA League Pass can be added for $28.99 per month

Extras: Watch on two different devices at once; 30 hours of cloud DVR; “72-hour lookback” feature, which allows you to watch any game up to three days after it airs, even if you forgot to DVR it

How to Sign Up: Head to the FuboTV website and select “Start Your Free Trial”. After creating an account, select your channel package and any extras if you want (League Pass can’t be added to a free trial). You’ll need to enter your payment information, but if you cancel your subscription within seven days of signing up, you will not be charged.

How & Where to Watch: If you want to watch on your computer, just return to the FuboTV website and navigate to TNT to start watching live. You can also search by sport to find the specific game you want to watch. The Chrome browser is suggested.

If you want to watch on your phone, tablet or other streaming device, you can do so via the FuboTV app, which is free to download for the following devices: Amazon Fire TV or TV Stick, Apple TV, Chromecast, Roku, Android phones and tablets, iPads and iPhones

Hulu With Live TV

Hulu

Hulu with Live TV offers a great mix of entertainment and live sports for cord-cutters.

Not only does it come with an extensive Netflix-like library of on-demand TV shows (Seinfeld, It’s Always Sunny, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, etc.) and movies, but it also includes the local sports network in your area (with a few exceptions), TNT and ESPN

There are lots of nice user experience features, too. The interface allows you to add specific teams to “My Stuff,” you can get mobile push notifications for when games begin, there’s a Sports filter in the Live guide, you can watch on two devices at once, and 50 hours of cloud DVR are included.

Total Channels Included: 50-plus (exact number depends on local channels in your market), including TNT, as well as Hulu’s on-demand streaming library (a $7.99 or $11.99 per month value).

Pricing Options: Hulu With Live TV (with the “Limited Commercials” on-demand plan): $39.99 per month | Hulu With Live TV (with the “No Commercials” on-demand library plan): $43.99 per month

Extras: The regular Hulu With Live TV plan allows you to watch on two different devices at the same time, but you can watch on unlimited screens at the same time for $15 per month extra; 50 hours of cloud DVR is included, but you can upgrade to 200 hours of enhanced cloud DVR for $15 per month.

How to Sign Up: Go to the Hulu website and select “Sign Up Now”. After creating an account, select your desired package and then enter your payment information to sign up.

How & Where to Watch: If you want to watch on your computer, simply return to the Hulu website and select “Start Watching” at the top of the page, and then “Live TV.” Then scroll to TNT or another channel to start watching a game. You can also search by sport or team to find a game to watch.

If you want to watch on your phone, tablet or other streaming device, you can do so via the Hulu app, which is free to download for the following devices: Amazon Fire TV or TV Stick, Apple TV, Chromecast, Roku, Android phones and tablets, iPads and iPhones, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, select Smart TV’s and other devices.

Sling TV

If you’re just wanting to watch TNT (included in both “Sling Orange” and “Sling Blue”), Sling TV has low initial price point. But if you want to have both ESPN (included in “Sling Orange”) and your local sports network (included in “Sling Blue”), or if you also want DVR, the necessary add-ons hurt the value.

Still, it’s a good option if you want to keep things basic.

Total Channels Included: Sling Blue has 40-plus channels (exact number depends on local channels available), including TNT and local sports network. Sling Orange has 29 channels, including TNT and ESPN. The “Sports Extra” add-on includes NBA TV

Price: Sling Blue: $25 per month | Sling Orange: $25 per month | Sling Orange+Blue: $40 per month | Sports Extra add-on: $10 per month | NBA League Pass (also gets you NBA TV): $29 per month

Extras: Watch on one device at once with Sling Orange or three devices at once with Sling Blue; 50 hours of cloud DVR is $5 per month extra.

How to Sign Up: Go to the Sling TV website and select “Watch Now 7 Days Free.” After creating an account, select your channel package and any extras you want, then enter your payment information to sign up.

How & Where to Watch: If you want to watch on your computer, just return to the Sling TV website and navigate to TNT or whatever channel you want to start watching a game. If you want to watch on your phone, tablet or other streaming device, you can do so via the Sling TV app, which is free to download for the following devices: Amazon Fire TV or TV Stick, Apple TV, Chromecast, Roku, Android phones and tablets, iPads and iPhones, Fire tablets, and Xbox One.

Though ESPN and ESPN2 get most of the attention, the rest of ESPN’s family of network, such as ESPNEWS, still often have programming worth watching. And even if you’ve cut the cable cord or can’t get to a TV, you can still watch this channel–and all of ESPN’s channels–live by signing up for a cable-free, live-TV streaming service.

While people with a cable subscription can watch a live stream of ESPN News through WatchESPN, those who have–or want to–cut the cable cord can watch ESPN News on your computer, phone or streaming device by signing up for one of the following cable-free, live-TV streaming services:

Hulu With Live TV

Getting all of that for just $40 per month is fantastic value

Total Channels Included: 50-plus (total number depends on local channels in your market), including ESPN News, as well as Hulu’s on-demand streaming library (a $7.99 or $11.99 per month value).

Pricing Options: Hulu With Live TV (with the “Limited Commercials” on-demand plan): $39.99 per month | Hulu With Live TV (with the “No Commercials” on-demand library plan): $43.99 per month

Additionally, ESPN News can also be watched on your computer via ESPN.com, or on your phone, tablet or streaming device via the ESPN app. You’ll need to log in to a cable provider to watch this way, but you can use your Hulu credentials to do that.

Sling TV

If you’re looking for a basic channel package without a lot of extras, Sling TV has a cheap price–“Sling Orange” ($25 per month) plus the “Sports Extra” add-on ($5 per month) will get you a live stream of ESPN News.

Of course, that’s only $10 less per month than Hulu with Live TV, and you’re still getting a lot fewer channels, no DVR (that’s another $5 per month) is included, and you’ll only be able to watch on one screen at once. It’s technically the cheapest, but the overall value for everything included isn’t nearly as good.

Total Channels Included: Sling Orange has 29 channels, while the Sports Extra add-on has 13, including ESPN News

Price: Sling Orange: $25 per month | Sports Extra add-on (w/Orange): $5 per month

Extras: Watch on one device at once with Sling Orange; 50 hours of cloud DVR is $5 per month extra.

How to Sign Up: Go to the Sling TV website and select “Watch Now 7 Days Free.” After creating an account, select your channel package and any extras you want, then enter your payment information to sign up.

How to Watch NFL Thursday Night Football Online Without Cable [2018] https://heavy.com/sports/2018/09/watch-thursday-night-football-online/ https://heavy.com/sports/2018/09/watch-thursday-night-football-online/#respond Thu, 27 Sep 2018 22:00:27 +0000 http://heavy.com/?p=1799188

Watching NFL games without cable can sometimes be a daunting task, but rest assured that isn’t the case for Thursday Night Football.

For the rest of the season, games on Thursday nights (this doesn’t include the Thanksgiving games) will be broadcast on Fox, NFL Network and Amazon Prime. If you don’t have cable or can’t get to a TV, you can watch a live stream of Thursday Night Football on your computer, phone or streaming device via one of the following streaming services:

Amazon Prime

If you have Amazon Prime or you want to start a free 30-day trial of Amazon Prime, you can watch a live stream of every Thursday night game for free on your computer via the Amazon website, or you can watch on your phone, tablet or streaming device via the Amazon Video app.

This is by far the easiest way to watch every Thursday Night Football game, though unlike the following two options, you won’t get access to other channels to the channels that will broadcast NFL games on Sundays and Mondays.

FuboTV

Both Fox (live in all 32 NFL markets) and NFL Network are included in FuboTV’s main package, which includes 85 total channels (also includes CBS and NBC for other NFL games) and is largely tailored towards sports fans. You can sign up for a free 7-day trial right here, and you can then watch a live stream of Thursday night games on your computer via the FuboTV website, or on your phone, tablet or streaming device via the FuboTV app.

If you can’t watch live, FuboTV comes with 30 hours of Cloud DVR (with the ability to upgrade to 500 hours), as well as a handy “72-Hour Lookback” feature, which will allow you to watch games on-demand up to three days after it airs even if you forgot to record it.

Hulu With Live TV:

In addition to their extensive Netflix-like streaming library, Hulu now also offers a bundle of 50-plus live TV channels, including Fox (live in all 32 NFL markets). It also comes with CBS, NBC and ESPN for other NFL games. You can sign up for “Hulu with Live TV” right here, and you can then watch a live stream of Thursday night games on your computer via the Hulu website, or on your phone, tablet or streaming device via the Hulu app.

If you can’t watch live, “Hulu with Live TV” also comes with 50 hours of Cloud DVR storage (with the ability to upgrade to “Enhanced Cloud DVR,” which gives you 200 hours of DVR space and the ability to fast forward through commercials).

Watch on Your Phone: NFL Mobile

Streaming of prime-time games, such as Thursday Night Football, can be watched on your phone via the NFL Mobile app.

Watch On-Demand: NFL Game Pass

If you’re fine watching games on-demand, another option is NFL Game Pass Domestic, which allows you to watch replays of every NFL game for a fee of $99.99 for the season. No live games are available under this service, but you’ll be able to watch them following the conclusion of games for the day.

Once signed up, you can watch games on-demand on your computer via the NFL Game Pass website, or on your phone, tablet or streaming device via the NFL Mobile app, which can be downloaded for free on a handful of different devices.

If You’re Outside the United States & Mexico

If you’re not in the United States, surrounding territories, or Mexico, you can watch NFL games live via NFL Game Pass International. The cost of the package depends on which country you’re in.

Once signed up, you can watch games on your computer via the NFL Game Pass website, or on your phone, tablet or streaming device via the NFL Mobile app, which can be downloaded for free on a handful of different devices.

Preview

Thursday Night Football is no longer the ugly duckling of the NFL schedule. The games themselves can still sometimes be a little sloppy due to the short weeks, but the matchups are now befitting of prime-time football. AKA, they are games you actually care about.

Here’s a look at the remaining TNF schedule for 2018:

Note: All games start at 8:20 p.m. ET and are broadcast on Fox, NFL Network and Amazon Prime

Date Matchup
September 27 Vikings vs Rams
October 4 Colts vs Patriots
October 11 Eagles vs Giants
Broncos vs Cardinals October 18
Dolphins vs Texans October 25
Raiders vs 49ers November 1
Panthers vs Steelers November 8
Packers vs Seahawks November 15
Saints vs Cowboys November 29
Jaguars vs Titans December 6
Chargers vs Chiefs December 13

There are a lot of compelling matchups on that list.

Rams vs Vikings: Los Angeles is widely regarded as the Super Bowl favorite right now, and while Minnesota just embarrassed themselves at home against the Buffalo Bills in Week 3, they still have the pieces in place to make a deep run. This could very easily be a preview of the NFC Championship, or at the very least, a playoff game.

Colts vs Patriots: The Colts-Patriots rivalry isn’t nearly what it was four years ago, but the Pats have started off much slower than expected, and the Colts have been much better than expected, so that October 4 matchup could be a sneaky good one. Either way, getting Luck vs Brady is a sign of how far Thursday Night Football has come now that Amazon has broadcast rights.

Eagles vs Giants: The defending Super Bowl champs appear on TNF the following week, taking on Odell Beckham, Saquon Barkley and the New York Giants in an important divisional matchup. Philly hasn’t been nearly as dominant as most were anticipating this year, and the G-Men are much better than last year’s 4-win team, so that’s another potential close matchup.

Panthers vs Steelers: Cam Newton, Ben Roethlisberger, Christian McCaffrey, James Conner (or maybe Le’Veon Bell), Antonio Brown, JuJu Smith-Schuster. This one has shootout potential written all over it.

Packers vs Seahawks: Green Bay is off to a slow start, and the ‘Hawks are no longer elite, but Aaron Rodgers vs Russell Wilson is must-see TV.

Saints vs Cowboys: New Orleans has one of the most explosive offenses in the NFL, while Dallas ranks first in the NFL in yards per play allowed (4.3) at the time of writing this (through three weeks). Strength vs. strength.

Chargers vs Chiefs: If things keep going the way they have through three games, Patrick Mahomes is going to have precisely 800 touchdowns by this point. The Chargers can also put up points in a hurry, so this could be an entertaining offensive slugfest (the first matchup resulted in 66 total points) with potentially important divisional implications.

Move it, Football Head! Fans of the Nickelodeon Nicktoon Hey Arnold! are likely familiar with Helga’s taunt — after all, it’s featured in the beginning credits. But Hey Arnold! was about more than that. The show, which aired for five seasons between 1996 and 2004, was created and developed by Craig Bartlett, whose career has been set in children’s programming. Bartlett reportedly created characters based on actual people he knew while he was growing up, which may be why they’re so relatable. His character of Arnold typically did the right thing, even with a few personal setbacks. And yes — that includes his head shape.

Hey Arnold! is streaming online, meaning that you can catch up with all the episodes from way back when. And unlike many animated shows, the lessons and humor within each episode still hold up. If you’re looking to watch Hey Arnold! online, here’s a guide to the episodes you won’t want to miss.

How to Watch Hey Arnold Online & Stream the Complete Series

Among all the streaming services, Hulu has exclusive rights to every episode of Hey Arnold!. There are a couple different options when signing up for Hulu, but either one will get you access to the show’s complete library:

Hulu

If you simply want Hulu’s extensive on-demand library, you can sign up right here. It costs $7.99 per month for the limited commercials plan or $11.99 per month for the no commercials plan.

Hulu With Live TV

This option gives you access to Hulu’s extensive on-demand library, as well as a bundle of 50-plus live TV channels. It costs $39.99 per month for the plan that includes limited commercials with the on-demand content or $43.99 per month for the plan that includes no commercials with the on-demand content.

The final season of Hey Arnold! had episodes that spanned a few years. Episodes after that aired in Belgium years before they ended up hitting America.

What Are the Best Hey Arnold! Episodes?

Hey Arnold! has a bunch of memorable episodes, especially during their earlier seasons. Here are a list of the best Hey Arnold! episodes throughout the show’s run on Nickelodeon.

Season 1, Episode 8: “Stoop Kid”

While it’s easy to pick on Stoop Kid, who harasses the other kids from the safety of his stoop, Arnold realizes that he probably has some good in him. Together, they try to get Stoop Kid to feel safe leaving his own property. Years after the episode aired, creator Craig Bartlett said that Stoop Kid really went places after that. According to Buzzfeed, Bartlett said “Once he had the power to leave the stoop, he left when he wanted to. He basically went around the world and sat on some huge stoops. Remember, Arnold showed him a bunch of stoops? He went to the Great Pyramids.”

Season 1, Episode 14: “Pigeon Man”

Arnold befriends a neighborhood loner who many of the kids are frightened by after one of his own carrier pigeons gets sick. The man is known for keeping company primarily of pigeons, which intrigues Arnold. After he gains his trust, Arnold’s friends accidentally sabotage his home in a heartbreaking manner, forcing Pigeon Man to fly forward.

Season 2, Episode 11: “The High Life”

In order to make his own money, Gerald becomes a watch salesman — and he’s surprisingly good at it. But unfortunately, his business crumbles when he realizes that he can’t sell someone the same watch twice. For anyone who thought they could get rich quick as a kid, this episode is more or less a good reminder that if something seems too good to be true, it usually is.

Season 2, Episode 15: “Harold’s Bar Mitzvah”

Harold is too afraid to “become a man” during his traditional Bar Mitzvah ceremony, so he tries hard to run away from it. As there aren’t many episodes of television geared towards children that outline Jewish culture, this episode flawlessly provided a cultural education to its viewers.

Season 3, Episode 1: “Harold The Butcher”

Harold shoplifts a ham, but is quickly caught by the butcher, Mr. Green. In order to have him pay off what he took, as the ham was now unusable, Mr. Green orders him to help out in the store. Who Are the Voice Actors in the Hey Arnold! Cast?

Hey Arnold! actually had a few voice actors play the character throughout the year, simply because many actual kids provided voices. While it’s easy for Arnold not to age, the same can’t be said about the show’s vocal talent — so, people were often replaced. Here are the most prominent voice actors from Hey Arnold!

Lane Toran as Arnold Shortman

Lane Toran voiced Arnold the longest, for 40 episodes between 1996 and 2001. While not playing the role as Arnold, he does appear in Hey Arnold: The Jungle Movie as various voices. Francesca Marie Smith as Helga Pataki

Francesca Marie Smith voiced Helga for an impressive 86 episodes and came back for the 2017 television movie. She also provided voices in a few episodes of VeggieTales.

Jamil Walker Smith as Gerald Johanssen

Dan Castellaneta as Arnold’s Grandpa

Most famous for voicing Homer Simpson, Dan Castellaneta also played Arnold’s wise grandfather, who more or less acted as his dad in his parents’ absence. He was in 75 episodes. As an actor outside of vocal work, he played Aaron Spelling on both The Unauthorized Melrose Place Story and The Unauthorized Beverly Hills, 90210 Story which were Lifetime television movies.

Justin Shenkarow a Harold Berman

Justin Shenkarow played Harold Berman on the show, and appeared in 71 episodes. His other work includes voices in the Pound Puppies series, and voices in the show W.I.TC.H..

Christopher Walberg as Stinky Petersen

Christopher Walberg was best known for his role as Timmy Moore in the 1994 film Little Giants. Playing Stinky was actually the last credit on his resume.

Who Are the Top Guest Stars on Hey Arnold!?

While Hey Arnold! didn’t rely heavily on guest stars, they did appear on occasion to help voice specific characters. Aside from Phyllis Diller and Randy Travis, who were already mentioned, here are a few other big names that helped bring memorable characters to life.

Beverley Mitchell as Summer

Beverley Mitchell, famous for her portrayal of Lucy Camden on 7th Heaven, provided the voice of Summer. Summer appears in a special half-hour episode of the show called “Summer Love,” which aired during the fourth season.

George Takei as Kyo Heyerdahl

George Takei plays the role of Kyo Heyerdahl, Phoebe’s father. He appears in a few episodes throughout the run of the show, most notably “Phoebe Cheats.’

Davy Jones as himself

Davy Jones, known for being a key part of The Monkees, played himself in an episode called “Fishing Trip” in season five.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Miss Felter

Arnold develops a crush on his teacher, Miss Felter, during the episode titled “Crush on Teacher.” Miss Felter is actually voiced by Julia Louis-Dreyfus, who played Elaine on Seinfeld and is currently known for her role in Veep.

Who Are the Writers & Creators Behind Hey Arnold!?

Craig Bartlett is credited a creating the series, but he wasn’t the only talent to help bring Hey Arnold! to life. He had some help, namely from Steve Viksten and Joe Ansolabehere.

Craig Bartlett: Hey Arnold! Creator And Writer

Craig Bartlett may be best known for Hey Arnold! but he’s also worked on projects such as Dinosaur Train and Ready Jet Go! He was also a story editor for 12 episodes of Johnny Bravo.

Steve Viksten: Hey Arnold! Writer and Developer

Steve Viksten, who undortunately passed away in 2014, was also a writer on Rugrats. He penned an episode of The Simpsons called “Homer Scissorhands,” which aired in 2011.

Joe Ansolabehere: Hey Arnold! Writer and Developer

Joe Ansolabehere has kept busy since Hey Arnold! wrapped up, most notably on the television series of Peter Rabbit and Pound Puppies, the latter in which he helped develop for television.

Joseph Purdy: Hey Arnold! Writer

Joseph Purdy also worked on Ready Jet Go! and Dinosaur Train but also worked behind the scenes of children’s television shows such as Arthur and Doc McStuffins.

Steve Socki: Hey Arnold! Director

While he helped direct 38 episodes of Hey Arnold!, Steve Socki is best known for working in animation, specifically as an animation timer. He’s worked on The Loud House, the Napoleon Dynamite television series, Futurama, and The Powerpuff Girls.

Where Hey Arnold! Ranks in the Television Pantheon

Hey Arnold! wasn’t the most talked-about Nicktoon (that honor probably goes to Spongebob Squarepants) but it was one of the most relatable. Much like Doug, which came years before it, the series focused on a pretty relatable pre-teen who learns from experience and strives to be a better person. The differences are, Hey Arnold! very often lets other characters lead the story, and features experiences that kids who live in the city would be more familiar with, such as taking the subway.

There’s a reason why the second Hey Arnold! movie was released years after it was created — people still feel a warmth for Arnold and his friends and wanted to see their journeys continue. Especially Arnold, who was trying to figure out whether or not his parents were still alive.

Even watching today, Hey Arnold! holds up. It’s a show that Nickelodeon should be proud of

What Are the Best Boy Meets World Episodes?

Even though Boy Meets World introduced new characters and personal obstacles as the series went on, the show never really lost its focus — it was always about how Cory handled both his family and friends, and growing up. Here are some of the best Boy Meets World episodes you won’t want to skip.

Season 4 , Episode 21: “Cult Fiction”

Shawn spent the majority of the show as a somewhat troubled kid, especially since his home situation wasn’t ideal. In “Cult Fiction,” Shawn tries to find some acceptance and ends up joining a cult called The Centre. It’s tough for him to leave, but he faces reality after Mr. Turne — who was always a father figure to him — gets in a serious motorcycle accident.

Season 3, Episode 21: “The Happiest Show On Earth”

Like many ABC sitcoms, Boy Meets World had an episode focused in Disney World. Airing in 1996, the plot revolves around Cory trying to win back Topanga and tell her how much she means to him. Cory confides some of his fears to a dolphin while on his trip.

Season 4, Episode 2: “Hair Today, Goon Tomorrow

After trying to tell Cory that personal appearance doesn’t matter, Topanga manages to cut off her hair with a pair of scissors like it’s no big deal while in the hallway. But soon after, she realizes what she’s done. It inspires her to get a makeover, which makes Cory even more insecure.

Who Are the Actors in the Boy Meets World Cast?

One of the reasons why the show is so beloved is since the actors behind the Matthews family were relatable. And, their family and friends were also depicted as solid, if not slightly flawed, characters that helped guide them. There’ll only be one Mr. Feeny, and he’ll always be one of the best fictional teachers around. Here’s what the cast has been up to since Boy Meets World aired.

Ben Savage as Cory Matthews

As the brother of Fred Savage, Ben Savage proved that he’s part of a very talented family. Savage had bit parts in shows like Chuck and Shake It Up before appearing in the official Boy Meets World spinoff, Girl Meets World, focused around Cory and Topanga’s daughter. The show was canceled in 2018, and Savage went on to play Gene in the series Still The King.

William Daniels as Mr. Feeny

William Daniels played Mr. Feeny, the neighbor and teacher of Cory and the gang. Appearing in a couple episodes of Girl Meets World throughout the run of the series, Daniels is best known for voicing K.I.T.T. in Night Rider and playing Dr. Mark Craig in St. Elsewhere

Betsy Randle as Amy Matthews

Betsy Randle played Cory’s mom, Amy. In 2003, she appeared in four episodes of the television series Charmed. More recently, she was in two episodes of Adam Ruins Everything playing Donna Rehm.

Will Friedle as Eric Matthews

Will Friedle created quite the career for himself in voiceover work after Boy Meets World ended. Still, he’s a fan of the show. Some of his most notable credits include Teen Titans Go! where he voices Kid Flash, and Transformers: Robots in Disguise where he voices Bumblebee. He’s currently working on Painters Guild, where he talks to professional artists who paint figurines.

Rider Strong as Shawn Hunter

Shawn Hunter was Cory’s best friend, so fingers crossed that the two also got along just as well off-set. Rider Strong was featured in a few episodes of Girl Meets World but was better known for directing the show. He’s credited on 16 episodes.

William Russ as Alan Matthews

William Russ hasn’t had any issue finding work since Boy Meets World wrapped p. He appeared in three episodes of Colony, was featured in an episode of Grimm, and recently completed a short called Open Season.

Danielle Fishel as Topanga Lawrence

Danielle Fishel will likely always be known as Topanga, which may be why she openly accepted the spot on Girl Meets World. Other credits include voiceoever work on Gravity Falls and the role of Marla in Dorm Daze.

Who Are the Top Guest Stars on Boy Meets World?

The show featured a lot of guest stars throughout its seven seasons on the air. Here are the most important Boy Meets World guest stars.

Adam Scott as Griff Hawkins

Yes — Leslie Knope’s fictional husband was once featured as a bully named Griff on Boy Meets World. He appeared in four episodes which aired between 1994 and 1995

Jennifer Love Hewitt as Jennifer Love Fefferman

Hewitt’s role in Boy Meets World was more or less a parody. She appeared in the episode “And Then There Was Shawn,” which poked a little fun at horror tropes. Since Hewitt was in I Know What You Did Last Summer it was only fitting to have her on the set.

Brittany Murphy as Trini Martin

When the show first aired, Topanga was seen as a dork. Then, she kind of fit in with Cory’s friend group as their relationship bloomed. But who was left behind? Trini Martin, one of her original friends. Brittany Murphy only appeared in two episodes that aired in 1995.

Fred Savage as Stuart

It made sense to have Fred Savage on an episode of the show, and a joy to see both Savage brothers together. The elder Savage played Stuart, a cool new professor who gets a little too casual with his students in the episode “Everybody Loves Stuart.”

Who Are the Writers & Creators Behind Boy Meets World?

Boy Meets World was created by Michael Jacobs and April Kelly, who often brought on interesting directors — for example, Micky Dolenz from The Monkees is credited on two episodes. Here are some of the crew members who were present throughout the run of the series.

Michael Jacobs and April Kelly: Boy Meets World Creators

Michael Jacobs alsos created the TGIF show Dinosaurs which only briefly overlapped with Boy Meets World. He was also behind the scenes on Girl Meets World prior to its cancelation. April Kelly’s most notable shows happened prior to Boy Meets World — she was a writer on Mork & Mindy and Webster.

Jeff McCracken: Boy Meets World Director and Supervising Producer

Jeff McCracken hasn’t had too many credits since Boy Meets World ended. While he’s still producing and acting on occasion, his last directing credit was an episode of The Site Life of Zack and Cody back in 2005.

Jeff Menell: Boy Meets World Writer and Executive Story Editor

Jeff Menell is credited on 53 episodes of the show, and stuck with it throughout the whole series. He also played Santa in the 1999 episode “Family Trees.” But he mostly stuck to working on Boy Meets World and Girl Meets World — his only other credit is as a producer on an episode of the 2003 series Lost at Home.

Where Boy Meets World Ranks in the Television Pantheon

Boy Meets World doesn’t have many haters — it was a funny and heartwarming show that mostly everyone could relate to on some level, either as a teacher, a parent, or a middle school student who wasn’t all that confident. Boy Meets World proved that nerds could conquer, and that relationships come in all shapes and sizes.

Like most family sitcoms, the show tackled a few serious topics in a way that was digestible to the audience. And unlike a few other shows airing around that time, they did it in a way that’d still hold up today. Boy Meets World has stronger seasons in comparison to your age (for example, those of us who are older might not relate too well to Cory as an eighth grader in the first season) but the show, as a whole, still holds up.

The show promoted respect for authority and a strong belief in family, faith and education, which spoke to its audience and added to its credibility as being a show for families with children.

While the series doesn’t avoid difficult subject matter like drugs, premarital sex and peer pressure, it uses these topics to show how Annie and Eric provide guidance with love and understanding that their children actually respond to. Additionally, the series was nominated for plenty of awards during its run, including Kids’ Choice Awards, Teen Choice Awards, TV Guide Awards and an Emmy.

Alfred Gough and Miles Millar’s prequel TV series Smallville opened up the story of DC Comics’ Superman to a younger WB-centric audience. Originally airing on The WB and later moving to The CW, the series followed Clark Kent in his fictional town of Smallville, Kansas before he becomes known as the red-caped superhero. While the first four seasons focus on a high school version of Clark and his friends, the show eventually dives into more mature settings, segueing into his time at college and career at the Daily Planet newspaper. Later episodes introduce other DC superheroes and villains into the storyline expanding the show’s universe and amassing a whopping 10 seasons and 217 episodes.

The show’s staying power was a result of its popularity. In addition to its lengthy televised run, the show spawned young adult novels and comic books including a run entitled “Smallville Season Eleven.” Smallville even inspired the British series Merlin, and spin-offs for Aquaman and Green Arrow were both considered (neither of which would reach airwaves, however). Also adding to its cred, former Superman star Christopher Reeve approved of the series and even made two guest appearances before his death in 2004.

Can’t get enough superhero action? Here’s how to watch Smallville streaming online.

Where Smallville Ranks in the Television Pantheon

When Smallville debuted in 2001, it helped its modest little network break records. The WB had a new highest-rated series debut on its hands with 8.4 million viewers tuning in for Clark Kent’s premiere episode. It also set a record for adult viewers aged 18-34, while also finishing first among viewers aged 12-34. The achievements and accolades kept rolling in. The show was featured on the cover of Entertainment Weekly as one of the best five new shows to watch, while the Parents Television Council named it one of the 10 best broadcast programs. In a 2011 issue of TV Guide, Michael Schneider called Smallville one of the best examples of a superhero adaptation for television.

Even former Superman Christopher Reeve was on board. He was quoted by author Paul Simpson saying:

“I was a little bit skeptical when I heard about [Smallville] at first, but I must say the writing, the acting, and the special effects are quite remarkable. In 1977, a big stunt scene would have taken us a week to film—it’s pretty impressive what they are able to do with computers and effects technology today on a weekly TV show. It gives it a lot more production value and inventiveness than I thought I was going to see when I first heard about the series. I think the show is doing a really good job following the mythology, and Tom is doing a good job following the tradition.”

In the opening sequence of Adult Swim’s Robot Chicken, a mad scientist revives a deceased chicken in his lab, transforming it into a cyborg version of its former self. The chicken is then strapped down Clockwork Orange-style and forced to watch the monitors in front of him, while channels flip repeatedly throughout to change the scene. What he then sees makes up each and every episode of Seth Green and Matthew Senreich’s pop culture-referential black comedy which is basically a stop-motion sketch comedy on acid or speed or maybe both.

Nine seasons, 177 episodes and 11 specials deep, Robot Chicken has kept itself fresh by becoming the Girl Talk of the animated TV world, mashing up various worlds of popular culture and spinning them in dark and twisted ways. The show mocks everything from retro toys, movies, television shows, games, fads and more, in the same vein as some of the best sketch comedy series of all time. The show is done in stop-motion style, but also employs toys, action figures, claymation and other various objects to appropriately spoof the most beloved—and culty—culture of all time.

The show recently wrapped up its ninth season this summer, but you can easily dive into the animated madness by streaming Robot Chicken online. Here’s how.

Who Are the Voice Actors in the Robot Chicken Cast?

A lot of celebrities contribute their voices to Robot Chicken, many of whom are Green and Senreich’s friends. Here are the main voice actors.

Seth Green as The Nerd, Batman and many more

Green and Senreich handle most of the voices themselves along with a litany of guest voice actors. Green is known for playing Oz on Buffy the Vampire Slayer in addition to many ’90s comedies such as Can’t Hardly Wait and the Austin Powers movies. He also voices Chris Griffin on Family Guy.

Matthew Senreich as The Flash, Willy Wonka and many more

When Senreich isn’t working on Robot Chicken, he’s writing for his other project, SuperMansion.

Breckin Meyer as Superman, Jesus Christ, Calvin and more

Green’s friend Meyer lends his voice to 93 of the series’ episodes and is the most prevalent voice actor aside from Green and Senreich. Meyer is also known for Franklin & Bash and Designated Survivor in addition to playing stoner Travis in Clueless.

Who Are the Top Guest Stars on Robot Chicken?

The list of guest stars who have voiced Robot Chicken characters is literally endless. (That may even be an accurate use of the word “literally.”) To name a few: Sarah Michelle Gellar, Rachel Leigh Cook, Scarlett Johansson, Donald Faison, Kesha, Dax Shepard, Kurtwood Smith, Matthew Lillard, Patton Oswalt, Ashton Kutcher, Debra Jo Rupp, Judy Greer, Topher Grace, Burt Reynolds, Wilmer Valderrama, Dom DeLuise, Fred Savage, Erika Christensen, Nat Faxon, Alex Borstein, Joss Whedon, Lance Bass, Pat Morita, Phil LaMarr, Ginnifer Goodwin, Amy Smart, Freddie Prinze Jr., Don Knotts, Dave Coulier, Melissa Joan Hart, Linda Cardellini, “Weird Al” Yankovic, Stuart Townsend, Scott Adsit and Jon Heder. This list just barely scratches the surface of the talent that’s involved.

Who Are the Writers & Creators Behind Robot Chicken?

Seth Green: Robot Chicken Co-creator, Director, Writer, Executive Producer and Voice Actor

Matthew Senreich: Robot Chicken Co-creator, Director, Writer, Executive Producer and Voice Actor

Both Seth Green and Matthew Senreich are the masterminds behind the mania. The two co-creators wear every hat across the board when it comes to creating Robot Chicken. Green and Senreich also helped create the production company Stoopid Monkey which is also responsible for Titan Maximum, SuperMansion, Buddy Thunderstruck and Hot Streets.

Where Robot Chicken Ranks in the Television Pantheon

Green and Senreich’s creation is the recipient of 19 Emmy nominations and five Emmy wins including Outstanding Short Form Animated Program in 2016 and Outstanding Individual Achievement in Animation in 2015. Its style of comedy made it an instant hit with the Adult Swim crowd, while its creative animation techniques gained it favor from critics. Airing alongside shows like Aqua Teen Hunger Force and Squidbillies, Robot Chicken quickly found its niche and cultivated a steady audience full of teens and young twenty- and thirty-somethings who grew up watching the same kinds of shows and movies that Green and Senreich did.

While the show can veer toward sheer stupidity, there’s a method to its madness. Underneath the parodies and silliness is a wealth of creativity and ingenuity, all of which Green and Senreich get full credit for. It’s a cartoon like no other both in style and tone, which breaks it away from the pack…and not just in the Adult Swim world. IGN writes:

“While Robot Chicken could rest easy on this familiarity of the action figures and spend less time on the comedy, it is refreshing to see that the series attempts to create the most humorous situations possible for the characters to muck about within. Whether it is Calvin (from the Calvin and Hobbes comic strips) going crazy because of his talking tiger doll, Inspector Gadget becoming a terminator, or finding out that E.T. is just a little bit slow, we reveled in the offensive (yet loving) parodies which so humorously perverted our favorite childhood characters.”

Though the “bright-eyed Westerner moves to the big city” gag is not exactly new, Nahnatchka Khan’s version is one of the sharpest. Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23 follows June Colburn (Dreama Walker), a young woman who moves to New York City from Indiana to accept her dream job at a mortgage company and large (included!) apartment. When the company goes bust thanks to an embezzlement snafu, she moves in with Chloe (Krysten Ritter), the titular “bitch” whose unfeeling and reckless ways both horrifies and titillates the innocent June. Chloe’s a wild party girl who holds a revolving door of roommates; she asks for the rent up front and then ups her insane behavior until her roommate freaks out and bails. When Chloe tries to pull the same scam on June, June winds up being more stronger willed than either of them could’ve ever anticipated.

Along for the ride is James Van Der Beek playing a fictionalized self-centered and self-satirical version of himself. The show’s James is trying to revamp his acting career, culminating in a commercial for his very own brand of jeans (“Put your cheeks in a Beek.“) and a season of Dancing with the Stars which leads to many actor-prone meltdowns. James rides shotgun alongside Chloe’s sociopathic behavior, allowing her to throw his name around to get what she wants. The two of them working and conning together is a sight to behold.

The show ran for two seasons before ABC pulled the plug, but here’s how to watch Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23 streaming online.

James throws his annual “positivity party” on Halloween to counter his fears of the holiday. June is happy when Chloe enters into a real relationship, but it’s soon revealed that Chloe’s new special friend is only her latest Halloween prank victim.

Season 2, Episode 14: “Teddy Trouble”

Chloe’s childhood friend Teddy comes for his annual visit, but he’s off his meds. Chloe plans on using his instability to get a bargain at a department store’s warehouse sale. James is devastated when he learns his Beek Jeans ended up in the “chill-out corner” of the sale and no one is buying them.

Who Are the Actors in the Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23 Cast?

Krysten Ritter as Chloe

Chloe is often described as having “the morals of a pirate.” She’s sexually adventurous, partying hard all of the time and taking whatever freebies she can get along the way. Even though she’s a borderline sociopath, she eventually ends up taking to June, often trying to help her roommate out despite making most situations worse. Ritter is best known for her turn as Jessica Jones in Netflix’s Marvel series and for guest spots on Breaking Bad and Veronica Mars.

Dreama Walker as June Colburn

June is optimistic and loyal to a fault. She’s honest and friendly to everyone which often leads to her downfall on the tough streets of New York City. She eventually learns how to stand up to Chloe, which ultimately earns her respect and leads to a friendship with “the bitch.” Walker has also appeared on Gossip Girl and The Good Wife.

James Van Der Beek as Himself

Van Der Beek plays a fictionalized version of himself who’s desperate to revive his lulling career. In spite of being extremely overconfident and narcissistic, he’s a good friend to Chloe and often helps the two women learn how to deal with each other. Van Der Beek is obviously known for Dawson’s Creek in addition to movies like Varsity Blues and The Rules of Attraction, and Viceland’s What Would Diplo Do?

Eric André as Mark Reynolds

Mark was set to be June’s manager at the mortgage company, but after losing his job he becomes manager of her local coffee shop and hires her on the spot. He’s a quirky guy who gets depressed after he breaks up with his girlfriend. He crushes hard on June and tries to approach her frequently, but the two end up proving to be incompatible. After Don’t Trust the B, André starred in 2 Broke Girls and Man Seeking Woman.

Ray Ford as Luther Wilson

Wilson plays Van Der Beek’s fussy personal assistant and biggest cheerleader, causing James to take advantage of him often. Luther feels that Chloe’s craziness gets in the way of James’ comeback, while Chloe finds Luther to be boring and uptight. Ford can also be seen on The Real O’Neals and Grey’s Anatomy.

Who Are the Top Guest Stars on Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23?

James Van Der Beek isn’t the only actor to appear on the show in a meta-fictionalized role. Busy Phillips, Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Dean Cain, Kiernan Shipka, Frankie Muniz and Charo all play themselves, weaving in and out of Van Der Beek’s struggle to reclaim the spotlight. Phillips and Gosselaar star in an episode revolving around a Dawson’s Creek reunion (Season 2’s premiere entitled “A Reunion…”), while many of the other cameos and guest spots occur after James joins Dancing with the Stars.

Who Are the Writers & Creators Behind Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23?

Nahnatchka Khan: Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23 Creator, Producer and Writer

Creator Khan started her career writing for FOX’s Malcolm in the Middle. After the demise of Don’t Trust the B, Khan created Fresh Off the Boat and signed a multi-year deal to create, write and develop for Twentieth Century Fox. Her directorial debut Always Be My Maybe is set to drop on Netflix in 2019.

Where Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23 Ranks in the Television Pantheon

The first season of Don’t Trust the B came out of the gate strong, securing a 91 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes and being praised as one of eight honorees for Most Exciting New Series at the Critics’ Choice Television Awards. Thanks to its smart writing and sleek dialogue and delivery, the show was well-received by critics throughout its run despite its struggle to find a loyal audience.

Ritter’s performance, one of her first leading roles, had an incomparable sardonic edge to it. When coupled with James Van Der Beek’s tongue-in-cheek, meta-lite turn, the show offered much more than its odd-couple-sitcom contemporaries. Its sinister aspects are what gave it its unique appeal. As Vulture noted, “Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23 is a trifle, but it’s intriguing for how it balances sweetness and sleaze.” It’s rare for savvy TV audiences to be shocked these days, but Don’t Trust the B‘s decadent depravity and self-satirical nature is refreshing for those who enjoy off-beat, immoral humor.

How to Watch Browns Games Online Without Cable 2019 https://heavy.com/streaming/2018/09/watch-browns-games-online-without-cable/ https://heavy.com/streaming/2018/09/watch-browns-games-online-without-cable/#respond Sun, 09 Sep 2018 13:30:22 +0000 http://heavy.com/?p=1776904

The cheapest streaming service that includes every channel that will have a Browns game is Hulu With Live TV. For more info about Hulu With Live TV and other live stream options, read on below.

After decades of futility, the Cleveland Browns enter the season with a historic set of expectations as the franchise looks for its first playoff berth in 16 seasons and its first AFC North division banner since 1989.

Browns games this year will be on either CBS (11 games–televised in select markets), Fox (2 games–televised in select markets), NBC (1 game–nationally televised) or ESPN (2 games–nationally televised), while one of the Fox games (Nov. 14 vs. Pittsburgh) will also be on Amazon Prime.

If you don’t have cable, you can watch Browns games live on your computer, phone, Roku, Fire TV Stick, Xbox One, PS4 or other streaming device via one of the following cable-free, live-TV streaming services:

In-Market & Nationally Televised Games: Hulu With Live TV

Browns Channels Included: CBS, Fox, NBC, ESPN (CBS, Fox and NBC are available live in Cleveland and other select markets)

Price: $44.99 per month

Not only is this the cheapest streaming service that includes every channel that will have a Browns game this season, but Hulu With Live TV also comes with Hulu’s extensive Netflix-like on-demand library of TV shows and movies.

You can sign up for Hulu with Live TV right here, and you can then watch Browns games live on your computer via the Hulu website, or on your phone (Android and iPhone supported), tablet, Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Chromecast, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Echo Show, or other streaming device via the Hulu app.

If you can’t watch a game live, Hulu With Live TV comes with 50 hours of cloud DVR space, as well as the option to upgrade to “Enhanced Cloud DVR,” which gives you 200 hours of space and the ability to fast-forward through commercials.

In-Market & Nationally Televised Games: FuboTV

Browns Channels Included: CBS, Fox, NBC (all available live in Cleveland and other select markets), NFL Network, NFL RedZone (Sports Plus add-on)

Price: $54.99 per month; $10.99 per month for Sports Plus

ESPN isn’t included, but if you can find a different way to watch those games (there will be just two Browns games on ESPN in 2019), FuboTV is a fantastic option. It comes with 100-plus channels in the main bundle, it includes NFL Network and NFL RedZone (Sports Plus add-on), it has some Fox games in 4K and it’s largely tailored towards sports.

You can start a free seven-day trial of FuboTV right here, and you can then watch Browns games live on your computer via the FuboTV website, or on your phone (Android and iPhone supported), tablet, Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Chromecast, or other supported device via the FuboTV app.

If you can’t watch live, FuboTV comes included with 30 hours of cloud DVR space, as well as a 72-hour look-back feature, which will allow you to watch games on-demand within three days of their conclusion, even if you don’t record them.

In-Market CBS Games: Amazon Prime

If you’re just looking to watch in-market CBS games (there are 11 of them for the Browns this year), and you can find a different way to watch the other games, Amazon Prime’s CBS channel is a great option.

If you have Amazon Prime or want to start a free 30-day trial of Amazon Prime, you can watch all live and on-demand CBS content via the CBS All-Access Amazon Channel, which comes with a 7-day free trial.

Once you’re signed up for both Amazon Prime and the CBS channel, you can then watch a live stream of the Browns CBS games on your computer via the Amazon website, or you can watch on your phone (Android and iPhone compatible), tablet, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Fire TV Stick, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 or other streaming device via the Amazon Video app.

In-Market CBS Games: CBS All Access

Same as above, this is another good option if you’re just looking to watch in-market CBS games (there are 11 of them for the Browns this year) and can find a different way to watch the other games. This is the same as the Amazon Prime CBS channel, only you’re watching through CBS’ digital platforms instead of Amazon’s.

You can start a free 7-day trial right here, and then you can watch a live stream of the Browns CBS games on your computer via the CBS website, or on your phone (Android and iPhone compatible), tablet, Apple TV, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 or other streaming device via the CBS app.

Out-of-Market Games

SundayTicket.TV allows you to watch a live stream of games that are out of your market and aren’t nationally televised. The service isn’t widely available, though, as it’s available for people who live in residences that can’t get satellite (apartments, condos, etc.), as well as residents of San Francisco, Philadelphia and New York City. You can check here to see if you’re eligible.

Additionally, most college students can get this service via SundayTicket U.

Once signed up, you can watch games on your computer via the NFL Sunday Ticket website, or you can watch on your phone, tablet or other streaming device via the NFL Sunday Ticket app, which is free to download on many different devices.

Watch on Your Phone: NFL Mobile

Streaming of in-market and prime-time games can be watched on your phone via the NFL Mobile app.

If You’re in Canada: DAZN

Viewers in Canada can watch every regular season and postseason NFL game live online via DAZN, a digital streaming service that also includes NFL Network, NFL RedZone, Premier League soccer, Champions League soccer, boxing and other live sports for $20 per month or $150 per year.

You can sign up for a free one-month trial of DAZN Canada right here, and you can then watch a live stream of Browns games and every other NFL game on your computer via DAZN.com, or on your phone, tablet, smart TV, Roku, Xbox One, or other streaming device via the DAZN app.

Watch Games on Demand: NFL Game Pass

If you’re fine watching games on-demand, another option is NFL Game Pass Domestic, which allows you to watch replays of every NFL game for a fee of $99.99 for the season. No live games are available under this service, but you’ll be able to watch them later in the day.

Browns 2019 Season Preview

The Browns were already on their way up last season, rebounding from an 0-16 season with a 7-8-1 record. Former No. 1 overall pick Baker Mayfield had a lot to do with that, reeling off a record-setting season despite starting just 13 games.

Mayfield passed for a rookie record 27 touchdowns last season. The former Oklahoma Heisman winner also collected 3,725 passing yards and helped the Browns finish 7-8-1, winning five of their final seven games.

This season, Mayfield has a new No. 1 wide receiver to work with in Odell Beckham Jr., who came over from the Giants via a blockbuster trade in the offseason. He’ll combine forces with his best friend and former teammate at LSU, Jarvis Landry — a Pro Bowler in his own right.

Mayfield and OBJ have been working on their chemistry through the offseason, and the former Heisman winning QB seems to have won over his new star wide receiver.

“When you have a guy like that, you never want to let him down,” Beckham said during training camp “There’s a reason he was the first pick. I just let him tell me what he thinks I should do and I’m just gonna do that. And he’s going to put it where it needs to be.”

The defense has received much less attention than the offense, but the Browns made some big additions there as well, adding Olivier Vernon and Sheldon Richardson. They’ll join forces with Larry Ogunjobi and Pro Bowl defensive end Myles Garrett, who has his eyes set on the NFL’s defensive player of the year honor.

“As the best defensive player in the league – that is the goal. That is the only way to stamp your name in the history books,” Garrett said. “If you are the best defensive player, you have to win Defensive Player of the Year. That is always the goal. If I don’t win that, it is about being a team player and taking my team to the Super Bowl.”

First-year head coach Freddie Kitchens has done a good job tempering expectations despite his team getting massive attention. However, the skipper assured the bar is high for the Browns.

“I want everybody to understand this,” he said. “Our goal here with the Cleveland Browns, as long as I’m here, will always be to win the Super Bowl. That’s the last time I’m going to say that. Just know and make it a given that that’s what I believe to my core.”

Coming off a seventh-straight appearance in the AFC Championship and a third trip to the Super Bowl in four years, the New England Patriots have made a lot of changes to the roster for 2018. Patriots games this season will be broadcast on either CBS (10 games–select markets), Fox (1 games–select markets), NBC (3 games–nationally televised), NFL Network (1 game–nationally televised) or ESPN (1 game–nationally televised). You can scroll down for the complete schedule, while a weekly coverage map to see if the game is broadcast in your area can be found here.

If you don’t have cable, you can watch a live stream of all in-market and nationally televised Patriots games on your computer, phone or streaming device via one of the following services:

How to Watch Cowboys Games Online Without Cable [2018] https://heavy.com/sports/2018/09/watch-cowboys-games-online/ https://heavy.com/sports/2018/09/watch-cowboys-games-online/#respond Sun, 09 Sep 2018 12:10:15 +0000 http://heavy.com/?p=1777670

The Dallas Cowboys enter the 2018 season without longtime offensive contributors Dez Bryant and Jason Witten, but with Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott still leading the offense, and a defense that adds a first-round pick to a unit that finished 11th in yards per play allowed last year, the ‘Boys still expect to contend with the Super Bowl champion Eagles in the NFC East.

Cowboys games this season will be broadcast on either Fox (9 games–select markets), CBS (2 games–select markets), NBC (3 games–nationally televised), ESPN (1 game–nationally televised) or NFL Network (1 game–nationally televised). You can scroll down for the complete schedule, while a weekly coverage map to see if the game is broadcast in your area can be found here.

If you don’t have cable, you can watch a live stream of all in-market and nationally televised Cowboys games on your computer, phone or streaming device via one of the following services:

Hulu With Live TV: Includes Fox, CBS, NBC, ESPN, 50 total channels, 50 hours of cloud DVR, and Hulu’s complete library of TV shows and movies.

FuboTV: Includes Fox (some games available in 4K), CBS, NBC, NFL Network, 85 total channels, 30 hours of cloud DVR, and ability to watch games on-demand up to three days after they air even if you didn’t DVR them.

Sling TV: Includes Fox, NBC, ESPN, NFL Network, 40-plus channels, and 50 hours of cloud DVR (not included in the base package but available as an add-on).

For out of market games, you may be able to watch via NFL Sunday Ticket.

Here’s a further rundown of all your options:

In-Market & Primetime Games: Hulu With Live TV

Hulu

Hulu with Live TV offers the perfect mix of entertainment and live sports for cord-cutters.

Not only does it come with an extensive Netflix-like library of on-demand TV shows (Seinfeld, It’s Always Sunny, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, etc.) and movies, but it also includes every channel that will broadcast a Cowboys game in 2018 (NFL Network isn’t included, but the Thursday night game on NFL Network is also broadcast on Fox and Amazon Prime). The local channels are available only in select markets, but Fox, CBS and NBC are all available in Dallas.

There are lots of nice user experience features, too. The interface allows you to add specific teams to “My Stuff,” you can get mobile push notifications for when games begin, there’s a Sports filter in the Live guide, you can watch on two devices at once, and 50 hours of cloud DVR are included.

Total Channels Included: 50-plus (exact number depends on local channels in your market), including Fox, CBS, NBC and ESPN, as well as Hulu’s on-demand streaming library (a $7.99 or $11.99 per month value).

After creating an account, select your desired package and then enter your payment information.

How & Where to Watch: If you want to watch on your computer, simply return to the Hulu website and select “Start Watching” at the top of the page, and then “Live TV.” Then scroll to your desired channel to start watching. You can also search NFL or Cowboys.

In-Market & Primetime Games: FuboTV

FuboTV

If you can get past the lack of ESPN (which only has one Cowboys game in 2018) FuboTV is one of the best streaming services for watching live sports and NFL.

Not only does it have Fox, CBS, NBC (all available in Dallas) and the NFL Network (plus FS1, Pac-12 Network and Big Ten Network for college football fans) all in the main “Fubo” package, but NFL Redzone is available in the “Sports Plus” add-on.

In terms of user experience, it has some games on Fox available in 4K, an interface that lets you search by sport, you can watch on two different screens at once, 30 hours of DVR are included, and there is a handy “72-hour lookback” feature, which lets you watch games on-demand up to three days later even without recording them.

Total Channels Included: About 85 (exact number depends on local channels available), including Fox, CBS, NBC and NFL Network. The “Sports Plus” add-on has 20, including NFL Redzone

Pricing Options: The “Fubo” package costs $39.99 for the first month, and then $44.99 per month after that. The “Sports Plus” add-on costs $8.99 per month

Extras: Watch on two different devices at once; 30 hours of cloud DVR; “72-hour lookback” feature, which allows you to watch games and shows up to three days after they air, even if you forgot to DVR them

How to Sign Up: Head to the FuboTV website and select “Start Your Free Trial”. After creating an account, select your channel package and any extras if you want. You’ll need to enter your payment information, but if you cancel your subscription within seven days of signing up, you will not be charged.

How & Where to Watch: If you want to watch on your computer, just return to the FuboTV website and navigate to your desired channel to start watching live TV.

In-Market & Primetime Games: Sling TV

If you just want to watch the games on Fox and NBC, Sling TV offers a cheap price point, as the “Sling Blue” base package ($25 per month) has both of those channels.

Of course, that’s only $15 and $20 less per month than Hulu with Live TV and FuboTV, and you’re getting far fewer channels, CBS isn’t included, ESPN is in the “Sling Orange” bundle, which is another $15 per month, and DVR is another $5 per month. It’s fine for keeping things basic, but if you want everything that Hulu and Fubo include, the overall value isn’t nearly as good.

Total Channels Included: Sling Blue has 40-plus channels (exact number depends on local channels available), including Fox, NBC and NFL Network. Sling Orange has 29 channels, including ESPN

Price: Sling Blue: $25 per month | Sling Orange: $25 per month | Sling Orange+Blue: $40 per month

How & Where to Watch: If you want to watch on your computer, just return to the Sling TV website and navigate to whatever channel you want to start watching live TV.

Games on CBS: Amazon Prime

If you have Amazon Prime or want to start a free 30-day trial of Amazon Prime, you can watch all CBS content (both live and on-demand) via the CBS Amazon Channel, which also comes with a 7-day free trial.

Once you’re signed up for both Amazon Prime and the CBS channel, you can then watch a live stream of your local CBS channel on your computer via the Amazon website, or you can watch on your phone, tablet or streaming device via the Amazon Video app.

Watch on Your Phone: NFL Mobile

Streaming of in-market and prime-time games can be watched on phones via the NFL Mobile app.

Out-of-Market Games

SundayTicket.TV allows you to watch a live stream of games that are out of your market and aren’t nationally televised. The service is available for people who live in residences that can’t get satellite (apartments, condos, etc.), as well as residents of San Francisco, Philadelphia and New York City. You can check here to see if you’re eligible.

Additionally, most college students may watch out-of-market games via SundayTicket U.

Once signed up, you can watch games on your computer via the NFL Sunday Ticket website, or you can watch on your phone, tablet or other streaming device via the NFL Sunday Ticket app, which is free to download on many different devices.

Watch Games on Demand: NFL Game Pass

If you’re fine watching games on-demand, another option is NFL Game Pass Domestic, which allows you to watch replays of every NFL game for a fee of $99.99 for the season.

How to Watch Ravens Games Online Without Cable 2019 https://heavy.com/streaming/2018/09/watch-ravens-games-without-cable/ https://heavy.com/streaming/2018/09/watch-ravens-games-without-cable/#respond Sun, 09 Sep 2018 11:10:52 +0000 http://heavy.com/?p=1781090

The cheapest streaming service that includes every channel that will have a Ravens game is Hulu With Live TV. For more info about Hulu With Live TV and other live stream options, read on below.

The insertion of Lamar Jackson under center helped the Baltimore Ravens end their mini postseason drought last year, and now they enter 2019 with expectations of turning that into a postseason streak.

Ravens games this year will be on either CBS (10 games–televised in select markets), Fox (4 games–televised in select markets), NBC (1 games–nationally televised) or ESPN (1 game–nationally televised), while one of the Fox games (Dec. 12 vs. New York Jets) will also be on Amazon Prime.

If you don’t have cable, you can watch Ravens games live on your computer, phone, Roku, Fire TV Stick, Xbox One, PS4 or other streaming device via one of the following cable-free, live-TV streaming services:

In-Market & Nationally Televised Games: Hulu With Live TV

Ravens Channels Included: CBS, Fox, NBC, ESPN (CBS, Fox and NBC are available live in Baltimore and other select markets)

Price: $44.99 per month

Not only is this the cheapest streaming service that includes every channel that will have a Ravens game this season, but Hulu With Live TV also comes with Hulu’s extensive Netflix-like on-demand library of TV shows and movies.

You can sign up for Hulu with Live TV right here, and you can then watch Ravens games live on your computer via the Hulu website, or on your phone (Android and iPhone supported), tablet, Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Chromecast, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Echo Show, or other streaming device via the Hulu app.

Ravens Channels Included: CBS, Fox, NBC (all available live in Baltimore and other select markets), NFL Network, NFL RedZone (Sports Plus add-on)

Price: $54.99 per month; $10.99 per month for Sports Plus

ESPN isn’t included, but if you can find a different way to watch the one Ravens game that will be on ESPN in 2019, FuboTV is a fantastic option. It comes with 100-plus channels in the main bundle, it includes NFL Network and NFL RedZone (Sports Plus add-on), it has some Fox games in 4K and it’s largely tailored towards sports.

You can start a free seven-day trial of FuboTV right here, and you can then watch Ravens games live on your computer via the FuboTV website, or on your phone (Android and iPhone supported), tablet, Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Chromecast, or other supported device via the FuboTV app.

If you can’t watch live, FuboTV comes included with 30 hours of cloud DVR space, as well as a 72-hour look-back feature, which will allow you to watch games on-demand within three days of their conclusion, even if you don’t record them.

In-Market CBS Games: Amazon Prime

If you’re just looking to watch in-market CBS games (there are 10 of them for the Ravens this year), and you can find a different way to watch the other games, Amazon Prime’s CBS channel is a great option.

If you have Amazon Prime or want to start a free 30-day trial of Amazon Prime, you can watch all live and on-demand CBS content via the CBS All-Access Amazon Channel, which comes with a 7-day free trial.

Once you’re signed up for both Amazon Prime and the CBS channel, you can then watch a live stream of the Ravens CBS games on your computer via the Amazon website, or you can watch on your phone (Android and iPhone compatible), tablet, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Fire TV Stick, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 or other streaming device via the Amazon Video app.

In-Market CBS Games: CBS All Access

Same as above, this is another good option if you’re just looking to watch in-market CBS games (there are 10 of them for the Ravens this year) and can find a different way to watch the other games. This is the same as the Amazon Prime CBS channel, only you’re watching through CBS’ digital platforms instead of Amazon’s.

You can start a free 7-day trial right here, and then you can watch a live stream of the Ravens CBS games on your computer via the CBS website, or on your phone (Android and iPhone compatible), tablet, Apple TV, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 or other streaming device via the CBS app.

In-Market & Nationally Televised Games: YouTube TV

Ravens Channels Included: CBS, Fox, NBC, ESPN (CBS, Fox and NBC are available live in Baltimore and other select markets)

Price: $49.99 per month

YouTube TV also includes every channel that will have Ravens games, but in order of preference I put it behind both Hulu With Live TV (YouTube TV is more expensive and doesn’t include the huge on-demand TV/movie library) and FuboTV (YouTube TV doesn’t have NFL Network or NFL RedZone).

You can sign up for YouTube TV right here, and you can then watch Ravens games live on your computer via the YouTube website, or on your phone (Android and iPhone supported), tablet, Roku, Apple TV, Chromecast, Xbox One or other compatible streaming device via the YouTube app.

If you can’t watch live, YouTube TV comes with included DVR.

You can sign up for a free one-month trial of DAZN Canada right here, and you can then watch a live stream of Ravens games and every other NFL game on your computer via DAZN.com, or on your phone, tablet, smart TV, Roku, Xbox One, or other streaming device via the DAZN app.

Ravens 2019 Season Preview

The Ravens closed their 2018 season on a 6-1 run after naming rookie quarterback Lamar Jackson the starter, finishing with a 10-6 record and a spot in the playoffs.

“His competitiveness, we all felt that,” wide receiver Willie Snead said in August, according to BaltimoreRavens.com. “We were 4-5 last year. We had no choice but to win, and we started to roll. We saw how good he could be. We had the best defense in the league, and we just rallied around him. Sometimes he goes outside the system, but he’ll go outside the system and make a play. He gives you a chance. He’s a competitor, man, and it’s contagious. I mean, he gets pissed when he doesn’t do something right.”

Baltimore surrendered just 4,687 yards from scrimmage last season, the lowest mark in the league. Only one team conceded fewer than their 287 points against.

In the wild-card round of the postseason, Jackson struggled through three quarters then led a late comeback that fell short as the Ravens lost to the Los Angeles Chargers 23-17.

Jackson went 14-of-29 for 194 yards, an interception, and a pair of touchdowns that came in the final seven minutes. He also fumbled three times, losing the ball once.

“I feel that playoff loss was on me,” Jackson said, per BaltimoreRavens.com. “I could have done more things in the first half. That won’t ever happen again. I learned from that. I ain’t over it yet. I’m not going to be over it until we win a championship.

“They can say whatever they want about me, but I’m trying to compete with (Tom) Brady. People are trying to make it to Pro Bowls and stuff like that? I don’t care about that. I’m not playing for myself. I’m playing for my team. My teammates know I’m all about winning. They can see it in my face. I don’t talk about it and brag about it, but I want the Lombardi Trophy for my team.”

Jackson completed 58.2 percent of his passes last year for 1,201 yards, 6 touchdowns, and 3 interceptions, adding another 695 yards and 5 touchdowns on the ground. He played in every game before taking over as the starter.

During the preseason, the 22-year-old said he’d rely less on his legs in 2019.

“Probably throwing, probably 30 passes a game,” Jackson told Mad Dog Radio, according to NFL.com. “Running, I probably won’t have as many attempts as last year. We have a great backfield and we’re just going to take what the defense gives us and take advantage of it and just go from there.”

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers revamped their defensive line in the offseason, but with a three-game suspension to Jameis Winston and a stacked NFC South division to deal with, they face an uphill battle in their quest to get back to .500.

Bucs games in 2018 will be broadcast on either Fox (15 games–select markets) or ESPN (1 game–nationally televised). You can scroll down for the complete schedule, while a weekly coverage map to see if the game is broadcast in your area can be found here.

If you don’t have cable, you can watch a live stream of all in-market and nationally televised Buccaneers games on your computer, phone or streaming device via one of the following services:

In-Market & Primetime Games: FuboTV

FuboTV

If you can get past the lack of ESPN (which only has one Bucs game in 2018) FuboTV is one of the best streaming services for watching live sports and NFL.

Not only does it have Fox, CBS, NBC (Fox and CBS available in Tampa) and the NFL Network (plus FS1, Pac-12 Network and Big Ten Network for college football fans) all in the main “Fubo” package, but NFL Redzone is available in the “Sports Plus” add-on.

How to Watch NFL Redzone Without Cable [2018] https://heavy.com/sports/2018/09/watch-nfl-redzone-online-without-cable/ https://heavy.com/sports/2018/09/watch-nfl-redzone-online-without-cable/#respond Sun, 09 Sep 2018 11:00:20 +0000 http://heavy.com/?p=1782407

NFL RedZone has become a must-have TV channel not only for fantasy football players, but for any NFL fan in general. It has continued to increase in popularity over the last several years, and many prefer coverage that jumps around from game to game with no commercials rather than sticking with just one game that constantly has breaks.

In other words, once you’ve experienced the Octo-box on NFL Redzone, it’s tough to go back.

Fortunately, even if you don’t have cable or can’t get to a TV, you can watch a live stream of NFL Redzone (or DVR it) on your computer, phone or streaming device via one of the following:

FuboTV: Includes NFL Redzone (in the “Sports Plus” add-on), 100-plus total channels, 30 hours of cloud DVR, and ability to watch games on-demand up to three days after they air even if you didn’t DVR them.

Sling TV: Includes NFL Redzone (in the “Sports Extra” add-on), 40-plus channels, and 50 hours of cloud DVR (available as an add-on)

Here’s a further rundown of both services:

FuboTV

FuboTV

FuboTV is one of the best streaming services for watching live sports and NFL.

The main Fubo package has a whopping 85 channels, including Fox, CBS, NBC and the NFL Network for the NFL fans, and then NFL Redzone is available in the “Sports Plus” add-on.

Additionally, in terms of user experience, it has some games on Fox available in 4K, an interface that lets you search by sport, you can watch on two different screens at once, 30 hours of DVR are included, and there is a handy “72-hour lookback” feature, which lets you watch games or shows on-demand up to three days later even without recording them.

Total Channels Included: About 85 (exact number depends on local channels available) in the main “Fubo” bundle.

How & Where to Watch: If you want to watch on your computer, just return to the FuboTV website and navigate to NFL Redzone to start watching live TV.

Sling TV

Sling TV does offer a cheaper price point if you don’t want many extra channels or features, as NFL Redzone by signing up for either the “Sports Extra” add-on ($10 per month) when you add it to “Sling Blue” ($25 per month).

Of course, that’s only about $15 less per month than FuboTV entry point, and you’re still getting far fewer channels and DVR is still another $5 per month. It’s technically the cheapest, but the overall value for everything included isn’t nearly as good.

Total Channels Included: Sling Blue has 40-plus channels (exact number depends on local channels available), and the Sports Extra add-on has 10, including NFL Redzone

Price: Sling Blue: $25 per month | Sports Extra add-on (w/Blue): $10 per month

Extras: Watch on three devices at once with Sling Blue; 50 hours of cloud DVR is $5 per month extra.

How to Sign Up: Go to the Sling TV website and select “Watch Now 7 Days Free.” After creating an account, select your channel package and any extras you want, then enter your payment information to sign up.

How & Where to Watch: If you want to watch on your computer, just return to the Sling TV website and navigate to the NFL Redzone or whatever channel you want to start watching live TV.

The Philadelphia Eagles enter the 2018-19 NFL season as defending Super Bowl champions for the first time, but there are a bevy of other teams–Patriots, Rams, Steelers, Vikings, Packers, Saints, Falcons, Jaguars, Chargers, Texans, Chiefs–with a legitimate chance at spoiling Philly’s quest for back-to-back titles next February.

It’s going to be a fun season.

All games in 2018 will be broadcast on either Fox (games based on your location), CBS (games based on your location), NBC (nationally televised), ESPN (nationally televised) or NFL Network (nationally televised).

If you don’t have cable, you can watch a live stream of all in-market and nationally televised games on your computer, phone or streaming device via one of the following services:

Amazon Prime: All in-market CBS games can be watched with a subscription to Amazon Prime and the Amazon CBS Channel.

For out of market games, you may be able to watch via NFL Sunday Ticket.

WNBA Finals Live Stream: How to Watch Storm vs Mystics Online https://heavy.com/sports/2018/09/wnba-finals-storm-mystics-live-stream/ https://heavy.com/sports/2018/09/wnba-finals-storm-mystics-live-stream/#respond Fri, 07 Sep 2018 19:00:39 +0000 http://heavy.com/?p=1783704

After each prevailing in a thrilling win-or-go-home Game 5 in the semifinals on Tuesday, the top-seeded Seattle Storm and No. 3 Washington Mystics are set to battle it out in the WNBA Finals.

The games will be broadcast on ESPN News (Game 1), ABC (Game 2) and ESPN 2 (Games 3-5). If you don’t have cable or can’t get to a TV, you can still watch a live stream of every game (or DVR them) on your computer, phone or streaming device by signing up for one of the following cable-free, live-TV streaming services:

Hulu With Live TV

In addition to a Netflix-like on-demand streaming library, Hulu also offers a bundle of 50-plus live TV channels, which includes ESPN, ESPN 2, ESPN News and ABC. You can sign up for “Hulu with Live TV” right here, and you can then watch a live stream of the game on your computer via the Hulu website, or on your phone, tablet or streaming device via the Hulu app.

Note that ABC is live in select markets, but even if it’s not available in your area, you can still watch the ABC game on the ESPN platforms by signing in with your Hulu credentials.

If you can’t watch any of the games live, “Hulu with Live TV” also comes with 50 hours of Cloud DVR storage (with the ability to upgrade to “Enhanced Cloud DVR,” which gives you 200 hours of DVR space and the ability to fast forward through commercials).

Sling TV

ESPN and ESPN 2 are both included in the “Sling Orange” channel package, while ESPN News is in the “Sports Extra” add-on. You can sign up for a free 7-day trial, and you can then watch a live stream of the game on your computer via the Sling TV website, or on your phone, tablet or streaming device via the Sling TV app.

Note that ABC isn’t included, but can watch the ABC game on the ESPN platforms by signing in with your Sling TV credentials.

If you can’t watch any of the games live, you can get 50 hours of cloud DVR storage as an additional add-on.

ESPN Platforms

Additionally, you can also watch a live stream of every game on your computer via ESPN.com, or on your phone, tablet or streaming device via the ESPN app. You’ll need to log in to a cable provider to watch this way, but if you don’t have that, you can still sign up for one of the above options and then use your Hulu or Sling TV credentials to sign in and watch on the ESPN digital platforms.

Preview

The Storm have the league MVP in Breanna Stewart, but it was veteran teammate Sue Bird who willed her team to the finals.

With the Storm trailing the Mercury by four points midway through the fourth quarter in the deciding Game 5 on Tuesday, Bird, who was wearing a mask after breaking her nose in Game 4, turned into the Human Torch. She buried four threes, many of which were several feet behind the line, and poured in 14 points over the game’s final six minutes to propel her team to the win and a spot in the finals.

It was a transcendent performance from the 16-year veteran.

“This is up there,” Bird said. “I don’t know that I’ve had a fourth quarter like this in as big of a game in my life.”

Bird’s theatrics were legendary, and she seems intent on capturing a third WNBA title, but you can’t overlook Stewart. The UConn product somehow quietly dropped 28 in Tuesday’s Game 5, upping her series average to 24.0 per contest. That’s a step up from the 21.8 she averaged during the season, which earned her near unanimous MVP honors.

Of course, the Mystics have a pretty good player, themselves.

Elena Delle Donne is three seasons removed from her MVP-winning season, but she’s still a dominant offensive force. She averaged 20.7 points on 48.8 percent shooting during the regular season, and she has been a destroyer of worlds during the playoffs with averages of 21.4 points, 12.0 rebounds and 3.6 assists in five games. Her knee injury is one of the series’ most important storylines, but even a hobbled Delle Donne (15 and 10 in Game 4 and 14 and 11 in Game 5, both wins, after missing Game 3 with the injury) is a scary Delle Donne.

Throw in the backcourt duo of stud rookie Ariel Atkins and All-Star Kristi Toliver, who are averaging a combined 28.8 points in the postseason, and the Mystics have the weapons to hang with the top-seeded Storm.

No matter what happens, it’s going to be a thrilling series.

If you don’t have cable, you can watch OU games live on your computer, phone, Roku, Fire TV Stick, Xbox One, PS4 or other streaming device via one of the following cable-free, live-TV streaming services:

Oklahoma Football Channels Included: Fox, Fox Sports 1 (Fox is live in select markets)

If you can’t watch a game live, FuboTV comes included with 30 hours of cloud DVR space, as well as a 72-hour look-back feature, which will allow you to watch games on-demand within three days of their conclusion, even if you don’t record them.

YouTube TV

Oklahoma Football Channels Included: Fox, Fox Sports 1, ABC, ESPN, ESPN2 (ABC and Fox are live in select markets)

YouTube TV also includes every channel that will have Oklahoma games, but it’s more expensive than Hulu With Live TV and doesn’t include the huge on-demand TV/movie library.

If you can’t watch live, YouTube TV comes with included DVR.

Oklahoma 2019 Preview

During his time at the helm at Oklahoma, head coach Lincoln Riley has produced heaps of wins and a pair of Heisman winners in Baker Mayfield and Kyler Murray — both who went on to be No. 1 overall picks in the NFL draft.

Riley has a chance to make it three-in-a-row with former Alabama quarterback Jalen Hurts transferring to the Sooners in the offseason to take over the starting QB role.

“The whole situation is unique and it’s happening to a unique person,” Hurts said. “I’m not your average Joe. I’m kind of built for these kinds of situations. There’s never been anything in my way that I couldn’t overcome or see through.”

Hurts carries a carries a 26-2 record as a starter, helping lead Alabama to a pair of national championship games. However, he lost his job when Tua Tagovailoa blew up on the scene in Tuscaloosa, leading to his move over to Oklahoma, where they are happy to have him.

“I saw a guy, I thought, who needed to be freed up a little bit, in my opinion,” Riley said. “Our goal with him has been freeing him up and letting him play a little more open and free. I saw the makings of that last year and thought he did a lot of really good things. At times, they moved it just as well or even better when he was in there, and obviously Tua was absolutely phenomenal last year. But I thought Jalen was really, really good, too, and I think he’s better right now than he was last year.”

Oklahoma averaged more than 48 points per game last season and have been one of the country’s most explosive squads under Riley. Last year, the Sooners season ended with a crushing 54-48 loss to Georgia in the Rose Bowl, which was also the semifinal of the College Football Playoffs.

Riley expects his defense to be better this season and isn’t worried about having a new signal caller under center.

“We’ve lost the Heisman Trophy winner and done it before,” Riley told ESPN. “I think we have a pretty good handle on it.”

Oklahoma opens its season with tests against Houston (Sept. 1) and UCLA (Sept. 14) before facing Texas in the Red River Showdown on Oct. 12.  A rivalry week matchup against Oklahoma State awaits on Nov. 30.

The College Football Playoff semifinals are set for Dec. 28. One semifinal is the Peach Bowl from Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. The other semifinal is the Fiesta Bowl in Glendale, Arizona.

The national championship will be played on Jan. 13, 2020 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans.

How to Watch Alabama Football Online Without Cable 2019 https://heavy.com/streaming/2018/09/watch-alabama-football-without-cable/ https://heavy.com/streaming/2018/09/watch-alabama-football-without-cable/#respond Sat, 01 Sep 2018 11:00:19 +0000 http://heavy.com/?p=1769447

The cheapest streaming service that includes every channel that will have an Alabama football game is Hulu With Live TV. For more info about Hulu With Live TV and other live stream options, read on below.

For the first time in four years, Alabama won’t start the season as the preseason No. 1 team. That’s right–they’ve fallen all the way down to No. 2 in 2019. Alas, a fifth consecutive trip to the national championship is, obviously, well within reach for college football’s long-running dynasty.

In 2019, Alabama football games will be televised on either ESPN, ESPN2, SEC Network, ABC or CBS. If you don’t have cable, you can watch Alabama games live on your computer, phone, Roku, Fire TV Stick, Xbox One, PS4 or other streaming device via one of the following cable-free, live-TV streaming services:

Hulu With Live TV

Alabama Football Channels Included: ESPN, ESPN2, SEC Network, ABC, CBS (ABC and CBS are live in select markets)

Price: $44.99 per month

Not only is this the cheapest streaming service that includes every channel that will have an Alabama football game this season, but Hulu With Live TV also comes with Hulu’s extensive Netflix-like on-demand library of TV shows and movies.

You can sign up for Hulu with Live TV right here, and you can then watch Alabama games live on your computer via the Hulu website, or on your phone (Android and iPhone supported), tablet, Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Chromecast, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Echo Show, or other streaming device via the Hulu app.

If ABC is not available in your market, you can also watch ABC games via ESPN.com or the ESPN app without having to sign in to a cable provider as long as you have a participating Internet Service Provider (ISP).

If you can’t watch a game live, Hulu With Live TV comes with 50 hours of cloud DVR space, as well as the option to upgrade to “Enhanced Cloud DVR,” which gives you 200 hours of space and the ability to fast-forward through commercials.

Sling TV & CBS All Access

Alabama Football Channels Included: ESPN (Sling Orange), ESPN2 (Sling Orange), SEC Network (Sports Extra add-on), CBS (Amazon Prime’s CBS Channel or CBS All-Access)

Price: $25 per month for Sling Orange; $10 per month for Sports Extra add-on; $5.99 per month for Prime’s CBS Channel or CBS All-Access

This option is $41 per month all together, but it’s my second choice because it doesn’t include ABC, it will cost more than Hulu With Live TV if you want to add DVR, it lacks the entertainment value of Hulu’s on-demand library and there’s the extra hassle of needing to use two different streaming services, as Sling TV is the cheapest option for the ESPN channels and SEC Network but doesn’t include CBS.

You can sign up for Sling TV right here, and you can then watch the Alabama games that are on the ESPN channels or SEC Network live on your computer via the Sling TV website, or on your phone (Android and iPhone supported), tablet, Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Chromecast, Xbox One or other streaming device via the Sling TV app.

If you can’t watch live, you can get 50 hours of cloud DVR storage for an additional $5 per month.

ABC isn’t included, but you can watch ABC games via ESPN.com or the ESPN app without having to sign in to a cable provider as long as you have a participating Internet Service Provider (ISP).

CBS also isn’t included, but you can watch those games through either Amazon Prime’s CBS Channel or CBS All-Access:

Amazon Prime’s CBS Channel

If you have Amazon Prime or want to start a free 30-day trial of Amazon Prime, you can watch all live and on-demand CBS content via the CBS All-Access Amazon Channel, which costs $5.99 per month and comes with a 7-day free trial.

Once you’re signed up for both Amazon Prime and the CBS channel, you can then watch a live stream of the CBS games on your computer via the Amazon website, or you can watch on your phone (Android and iPhone compatible), tablet, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Fire TV Stick, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 or other streaming device via the Amazon Video app.

CBS All Access

This is ultimately the same as the Amazon Prime option, only you’re watching through CBS’ digital platform rather than Amazon’s.

You can start a free 7-day trial right here, and then you can watch a live stream of the CBS games on your computer via the CBS website, or on your phone (Android and iPhone compatible), tablet, Apple TV, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 or other streaming device via the CBS app.

YouTube TV

Alabama Football Channels Included: ESPN, ESPN2, SEC Network, ABC, CBS (ABC and CBS are live in select markets)

Price: $49.99 per month

YouTube TV also includes every channel that will have Alabama games, but it’s more expensive than Hulu With Live TV and doesn’t include the huge on-demand TV/movie library.

You can sign up for YouTube TV right here, and you can then watch Alabama games live on your computer via the YouTube website, or on your phone (Android and iPhone supported), tablet, Roku, Apple TV, Chromecast, Xbox One or other compatible streaming device via the YouTube app.

If ABC is not available in your market, you can also watch ABC games via ESPN.com or the ESPN app without having to sign in to a cable provider as long as you have a participating Internet Service Provider (ISP).

If you can’t watch live, YouTube TV comes with included DVR.

2019 Alabama Football Preview

Led by first-round picks Quinnen Williams, Jonah Williams, Tytus Howard and Josh Jacobs, there were 10 players from Alabama drafted in 2019, the most of any school.

But that’s no problem for Nick Saban. He lost seven to the draft in 2015, seven in 2016, 10 in 2017 and 12 in 2018. And he returned the Crimson Tide to the national championship in each of those years. There’s no such thing as a rebuild in Tuscaloosa. It’s always a reload.

And the reload is made a lot easier when you have one of the nation’s best players at quarterback.

After becoming the national championship hero in 2017, Tua Tagovailoa was frighteningly efficient as a sophomore last year, completing 69.0 percent of his throws for 3,966 yards (11.2 YPA), 43 touchdowns and six interceptions. He finished second in Heisman voting to eventual No. 1 overall pick Kyler Murray, but both of those honors could very well be bestowed upon him in the next year. He returns as a junior as the co-favorite for Heisman (it’s him or Trevor Lawrence depending on who you ask) and the favorite for the No. 1 pick in 2020.

But he’s more focused on making the improvements necessary to bring Alabama another national championship.

“I know a big focal point of Tua’s offseason work was to understand situationally what the team needs to be successful,” said former Alabama QB Greg McElroy. “The thing about Tua, things went so well so often for him, he didn’t often have to bounce back from a bad throw or a bad decision. And when those did happen, he tried to get it back on one play.”

As for the rest of the depth chart, it’s stacked as always.

Wide receiver Jerry Jeudy is a potential Top-10 pick who piled up 68 catches for 1,315 yards and 14 touchdowns a year ago. Running back Najee Harris is ready to become the primary ball-carrier after averaging 6.5 yards per carry in shared roles over the last two years. And on defense, even after the loss of star Dylan Moses to a knee injury, there are still studs abound with guys like Raekwon Davis and Xavier McKinney having first-time All-American potential.

Oh yeah, there’s also the incoming crop of talent. Alabama brings in the nation’s top freshmen class, led by three players (Antonio Alfano, Trey Sanders, Evan Neal) in the Top 10 and 12 in the Top 100. And that doesn’t even include DJ Dale, the 4-star defensive tackle who was named to ESPN’s preseason True Freshman All-American team.

Put it all together, and the story is once again the same in Alabama in 2019: National championship or disappointment.

How to Watch UCLA Football Games Online Without Cable [2018] https://heavy.com/sports/2018/08/watch-ucla-football-game-online/ https://heavy.com/sports/2018/08/watch-ucla-football-game-online/#respond Sat, 01 Sep 2018 01:30:10 +0000 http://heavy.com/?p=1772728

The Chip Kelly Era begins in Westwood. UCLA has been a mid- to lower-tier Pac-12 team the last three seasons, and they have just two Top-25 finishes in the last 12 years, but Kelly back on a college sideline makes the Bruins a must-watch team in 2018.

Every UCLA football game will be broadcast nationally on one of the following channels: ABC, Fox, Fox Sports 1, any of the ESPN channels, or the Pac-12 Network (full schedule). Fortunately, even if you don’t have cable or a TV, you can watch one, some or all of these channels by signing up for one of the following cable-free, live TV streaming services:

Hulu With Live TV: Includes ABC, Fox, Fox Sports 1, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU and ESPN News

FuboTV: Includes Fox, Fox Sports 1, Pac-12 Network and Pac-12 Regional Networks

Sling TV: Includes Fox, Fox Sports 1, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPN News and Pac-12 Network

All of these services allow you to watch live TV without a cable box or satellite or annual contract. All you need is an internet connection. Here’s a rundown of what they include, how to sign up, and how to watch a live stream of UCLA games in 2018:

Hulu With Live TV

Hulu With Live TV

Hulu

Hulu with Live TV offers the perfect mix of entertainment and live sports for cord-cutters. Not only does it come with an extensive Netflix-like library of on-demand TV shows (Seinfeld, It’s Always Sunny, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, etc.) and movies, but it also gives you almost all the channels (no Pac-12 Network is the one drawback) that will broadcast UCLA football games in 2018.

If you can get past the lack of Pac-12 Network (none of UCLA’s first four games are on the P12 Network), getting all of that for just $40 per month is great value.

UCLA Football Channels Included: ABC (live in select markets), Fox, Fox Sports 1, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPN News. There are a total of 50-plus channels included, as well as Hulu’s on-demand streaming library (a $7.99 or $11.99 per month value).

After creating an account, select your channel package and any extras you want, then enter your payment information.

How & Where to Watch: If you want to watch on your computer, simply return to the Hulu website and select “Start Watching” at the top of the page, and then “Live TV.” Scroll to whatever channel you want to start watching live TV.

Additionally, Bruins games that are on ABC or any of the ESPN channels can also be watched on your computer via ESPN.com, or on your phone, tablet or streaming device via the ESPN app. You’ll need to log in to a cable provider to watch this way, but you can use your Hulu credentials to do that.

FuboTV

FuboTV

Though it also has a good amount of entertainment channels, FuboTV is one of the best streaming services for watching live sports. Among many other sports channels, the main “Fubo” package comes with Fox, FS1, and the Pac-12 Network–and has all of the regional Pac-12 Networks available as an add-on. It also has a lot of nice user experience features, including an interface that lets you search by sport, included DVR, and my personal favorite, a “72-hour lookback” feature, which lets you watch games on-demand up to three days later even without recording them.

The one drawback is that the ESPN channels aren’t included, but for games on the Fox channels and the Pac-12 Network, FuboTV is a really good option–and it’s a very good value for how many channels you’re getting.

UCLA Football Channels Included: Fox, Fox Sports 1, Pac-12 Network, Pac-12 Regional Networks

Pricing Options: The “Fubo” package, which has 75-plus channels including the ones listed above, costs $39.99 for the first month, and then $44.99 per month after that. The “Sports Plus” add-on, which has all of the Pac-12 Regional Networks, is $8.99 per month

Extras: Watch on two different devices at once; 30 hours of cloud DVR is included; also includes a “72-hour lookback” feature, which allows you to watch games and shows up to three days after they air, even if you forgot to DVR them

How to Sign Up: Head to the FuboTV website and select “Start Your Free Trial”. After creating an account, select your channel package and any extras if you want. You’ll need to enter your payment information, but if you cancel your subscription within seven days of signing up, you will not be charged.

How & Where to Watch: If you want to watch on your computer, just return to the FuboTV website and navigate to a channel to start watching live TV.

Sling TV

The first to dive into the cable-free, live-TV streaming service, Sling TV’s biggest selling point continues to be its low price point. However, while the basic “Sling Orange” or “Sling Blue” is a cheap entry point, you need to get both base packages plus the “Sports Extra” add-on to get all the channels that will show UCLA football games, which adds up to $50 per month ($55 if you want DVR).

Still, while the value ends up being worse than the first two options, this is the best way to get every channel that will broadcast a UCLA game in 2018:

UCLA Football Channels Included: ESPN and ESPN2 are part of the “Sling Orange” bundle, Fox and FS1 are part of the “Sling Blue” bundle, and ESPNU, ESPN News and Pac-12 Network are in the “Sports Extra” add-on

Price: Sling Orange: $25 per month | Sling Blue: $25 per month | Sling Orange + Blue: $40 per month | Sports Extra add-on: $10 per month ($5 per month if you add it to just Sling Orange)

Extras: Watch on one device at once with Sling Orange or Sling Orange+Blue; Watch on three devices at once with Sling Blue; 50 hours of cloud DVR is $5 per month extra.

How to Sign Up: Go to the Sling TV website and select “Watch Now 7 Days Free.” After creating an account, select your channel package and any extras you want, then enter your payment information to sign up.

How & Where to Watch: If you want to watch on your computer, just return to the Sling TV website and navigate to your desired channel to start watching live TV.

Additionally, UCLA games that are on ABC or any of the ESPN channels can also be watched on your computer via ESPN.com, or on your phone, tablet or streaming device via the ESPN app. You’ll need to log in to a cable provider to watch this way, but you can use your Sling TV credentials to do that.

Season Preview

Kelly’s last four seasons of coaching saw him tally just one playoff appearance in four total seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles and San Francisco 49ers, quickly putting an end to his time in the NFL. But it’s what he did most recently in the college ranks that has fans in Westwood giddy about his arrival:

En route to 46 wins, a trip to the national championship, victories in the Rose Bowl and Fiesta Bowl, and three Top-4 finishes in four seasons at Oregon, Kelly established the Ducks not only as a national power, but as one of the most entertaining programs college football has seen.

In Year 1 with UCLA, he doesn’t have nearly the same amount of talent to work with as he did at Oregon, but many are still nonetheless excited to see him re-implement his thrilling up-tempo offense.

“It’s a lot of read option, dish-and-dunk kind of stuff,” receiver Theo Howard said of Kelly’s system. “But we’re all embracing it and we like it.”

At quarterback, the most important position in any offense but especially so in a Chip Kelly offense, there are a handful of different options at his disposal.

Wilton Speight, a grad transfer from Michigan, will start the season opener against Cincinnati, but there are others who will be waiting in the wings should he struggle. Devon Modster completed 64.6 percent of his throws for 671 yards, four touchdowns and zero interceptions in relief of Josh Rosen last year, while true freshman Dorian Thompson-Robinson, the 4-star recruit from Las Vegas who has the skill set that best fits Kelly’s read-option offense, seems to be the future of the program.

The rest of the offense is a bit of a concern, though. The team’s top two receivers from a year ago (Jordan Lasley, Darren Andrews) are both gone, while the running game will have to operate behind a revamped offensive line that loses three all Pac-12 performers (Kolton Miller, Scott Quessenberry, Najee Toran).

Put it all together, and you have a head coach with a history of massive success both nationally and in the conference, but an inherited roster with plenty question marks. It shouldn’t be long before Kelly has this team as a Pac-12 contender, but for at least another year, the Bruins are probably headed for another finish in the middle of the conference.

That said, it’s still going to be wildly fun to watch–it always is with Kelly at the helm.

The cheapest streaming service that includes every channel that will have a Michigan football game is Hulu With Live TV. For more info about Hulu With Live TV and other live stream options, read on below.

In Jim Harbaugh’s fifth season, Michigan has high hopes, looking to head into uncharted territory with a strong crop of returning talent and Big 10 rival Ohio State going through a huge degree of change.

In 2019, Michigan football games will be televised on either Big Ten Network, Fox, Fox Sports 1, ABC, ESPN or ESPN2. If you don’t have cable, you can watch UM games live on your computer, phone, Roku, Fire TV Stick, Xbox One, PS4 or other streaming device via one of the following cable-free, live-TV streaming services:

Hulu With Live TV

Michigan Football Channels Included: Big Ten Network, Fox, Fox Sports 1, ABC, ESPN, ESPN2 (ABC and Fox are live in select markets)

The ESPN channels aren’t included, but if you can find a different way to watch those games (there are only a couple on the schedule), FuboTV is a great option, as it comes with 100-plus channels in the main bundle, includes the Big Ten alternate channels, has some games on Fox and FS1 in 4K and is largely tailored towards sports.

You can start a free seven-day trial of FuboTV right here, and you can then watch Michigan football games live on your computer via the FuboTV website, or on your phone (Android and iPhone supported), tablet, Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Chromecast, or other supported device via the FuboTV app.

ABC isn’t included on Fubo, but you can watch those games via ESPN.com or the ESPN app without having to sign in to a cable provider as long as you have a participating Internet Service Provider (ISP).

If you can’t watch a game live, FuboTV comes included with 30 hours of cloud DVR space, as well as a 72-hour look-back feature, which will allow you to watch games on-demand within three days of their conclusion, even if you don’t record them.

YouTube TV

Michigan Football Channels Included: Big Ten Network, Fox, Fox Sports 1, ABC, ESPN, ESPN2 (ABC and Fox are live in select markets)

YouTube TV also includes every channel that will have Michigan games, but it’s more expensive than Hulu With Live TV and doesn’t include the huge on-demand TV/movie library.

If you can’t watch live, YouTube TV comes with included DVR.

Michigan 2019 Preview

Michigan finished 10-3 a year ago, but the big question that remains for the Wolverines: is this the year they get by Ohio State? The Buckeyes have won 16 of the last 18 matchups, including the last seven straight against their Big 10 rival.

Michigan opened the season as the No. 7 ranked team in the AP Top 25 Poll, two spots back of the Buckeyes, who are working in both a new head coach and quarterback. Harbaugh feels like this could be the year they overcome the hurdle.

“We’ve played a lot of young guys through the years,” Harbaugh said. “I think our first year we played 11 or 12 freshmen and the next year it was like 17. In our fourth year, we played three. So the reinforcements have come. The team is in a really good place right now. You want to make it tighter. You want to make it better. You’ve got a good tight grip on it and now you want to squeeze it and make it better.”

The Wolverines brought in offensive coordinator Josh Gattis and his spread offense in the offseason, a solid fit for returning quarterback Shea Patterson. Last season, Patterson passed for 2,600 yards, 22 touchdowns and seven interceptions.

“I do see him doing a lot of Shea things in practice,” Michigan offensive lineman Cesar Ruiz told reporters. “I think you guys should know what that means, doing a lot of Shea things. We’ve seen him do it previously when he first got into college. I see him more comfortable doing what he does out there in our new offense. He’s in his own category, really. Shea things is just him being able to turn a play from nothing into something. Just seeing him do great and mindblowing things like that.”

Former Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer recently threw a little fuel on the fire in the rivalry, saying he’s unsure this is the year the Wolverines get the best of the Buckeyes.

“They certainly have the players,” Meyer said on Fox Sports. “They have some of the best unknown players in America. The three receivers they have are all NFL draft picks. Donovan Peoples-Jones is a leader. I recruited Jones, and he’s an incredible player, incredible person, great punt returner. The question is: Are they really going to be able to transition to a spread offense fast enough not to lose a game?”

Michigan opens its season on Aug. 31 against Middle Tennessee. The Wolverines and Buckeyes face off on Nov.

PS Vue — which doesn’t require an actual PlayStation console to sign up or watch — offers four different live-TV channel packages. 2019 Clemson Football Preview

Coming off their second title in three seasons, the Tigers enter the year ranked No. 1 in the AP poll for the first time in program history. It’s is a good gauge of how much hype is surrounding Clemson as they look for a second consecutive championship. If they pull off the feat, the Tigers would be the first team not named Alabama to complete the task since Nebraska did it 25 years ago.

Under Dabo Swinney, the Tigers have become a lasting power in college football and ride into the season on a 15-game winning streak and eight straight double-digit victory seasons. Since losing to Alabama in the 2015 title game, the Tigers are 55-4.

In last year’s National Championship, Clemson roasted Alabama 44-16 — a game Nick Saban won’t soon forget. There was a narrative that the Crimson Tide were tired from the grind of a tough SEC schedule, but Swinney isn’t buying it.

“People get amnesia,” Swinney told ESPN. “A lot of folks make a lot of bold claims early in the year and then they forget, and there’s a lot of excuses when it doesn’t go that way. Five, six or seven years ago, the rhetoric was that an ACC team is not going to win a national championship because they don’t play anybody during the season, so then they get to the postseason and are just not prepared for the big, bad boys.

“Well, now, they’ve flipped it around, and the only reason we’re winning is because we don’t play anybody in the ACC. … You don’t just come out of a soft conference and haven’t played anybody and all of a sudden go out and beat Notre Dame and Alabama. I mean, give me a break. Now that happens in other conferences. I’ve seen that, people that get propped up, and then I watch the tape and go, ‘They ain’t played what we’ve played.'”

The Tigers return a heap of talent on the offensive side of the ball in quarterback Trevor Lawrence, wide receiver Justyn Ross and running back Travis Etienne.

The hallmark of Clemson’s defense last year was a dominant defensive line. The Tigers lost their top five defensive linemen to the NFL but have plenty of new talent ready to step in.

“It’s a major work in progress,” Swinney said during the ACC Football Kickoff. “The good news is we’ve got a lot of guys with hard hats on.”

How to Watch Stanford Football Online Without Cable [2018] https://heavy.com/sports/2018/08/watch-stanford-football-games-online/ https://heavy.com/sports/2018/08/watch-stanford-football-games-online/#respond Fri, 31 Aug 2018 11:00:58 +0000 http://heavy.com/?p=1774910

With the majority of their offense back, including Heisman candidate Bryce Love, Stanford enters the 2018 season as a legitimate threat to Washington in the Pac-12 North. They’ll need to navigate a tough schedule, but the Cardinal have the talent to make a run at the college football playoff.

Every Stanford football game will be broadcast nationally on one of the following channels: ABC, Fox, Fox Sports 1, any of the ESPN channels, or the Pac-12 Network (full schedule). Fortunately, even if you don’t have cable or a TV, you can watch one, some or all of these channels by signing up for one of the following cable-free, live TV streaming services:

FuboTV: Includes Fox, Fox Sports 1, Pac-12 Network and Pac-12 Regional Networks

Hulu With Live TV: Includes ABC, Fox, Fox Sports 1, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU and ESPN News

Sling TV: Includes Fox, Fox Sports 1, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPN News and Pac-12 Network

All of these services allow you to watch live TV without a cable box or satellite or annual contract. All you need is an internet connection. Here’s a rundown of what they include, how to sign up, and how to watch a live stream of Stanford games in 2018:

FuboTV

Stanford Football Channels Included: Fox, Fox Sports 1, Pac-12 Network, Pac-12 Regional Networks

Pricing Options: The “Fubo” package, which has 80-plus channels including the ones listed above, costs $39.99 for the first month, and then $44.99 per month after that.

Hulu With Live TV

Hulu

Hulu with Live TV offers the perfect mix of entertainment and live sports for cord-cutters. Not only does it come with an extensive Netflix-like library of on-demand TV shows (Seinfeld, It’s Always Sunny, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, etc.) and movies, but it also gives you almost all the channels (no Pac-12 Network is the one drawback) that will broadcast Stanford football games in 2018.

If you can get past the lack of Pac-12 Network, getting all of that for just $40 per month is great value.

Stanford Football Channels Included: ABC (live in select markets), Fox, Fox Sports 1, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPN News. There are a total of 50-plus channels included, as well as Hulu’s on-demand streaming library (a $7.99 or $11.99 per month value).

Additionally, Cardinal games that are on ABC or any of the ESPN channels can also be watched on your computer via ESPN.com, or on your phone, tablet or streaming device via the ESPN app. You’ll need to log in to a cable provider to watch this way, but you can use your Hulu credentials to do that.

Sling TV

The first to dive into the cable-free, live-TV streaming service, Sling TV’s biggest selling point continues to be its low price point. However, while the basic “Sling Orange” or “Sling Blue” is a cheap entry point, you need to get both base packages plus the “Sports Extra” add-on to get all the channels that will show Stanford football games, which adds up to $50 per month ($55 if you want DVR).

Still, while the value ends up being worse than the first two options, this is the best way to get every channel that will broadcast a Stanford game in 2018:

Stanford Football Channels Included: ESPN and ESPN2 are part of the “Sling Orange” bundle, Fox and FS1 are part of the “Sling Blue” bundle, and ESPNU, ESPN News and Pac-12 Network are in the “Sports Extra” add-on

Additionally, Stanford games that are on ABC or any of the ESPN channels can also be watched on your computer via ESPN.com, or on your phone, tablet or streaming device via the ESPN app. You’ll need to log in to a cable provider to watch this way, but you can use your Sling TV credentials to do that.

Season Preview

It’s the Season of Love.

Bryce Love was unstoppable last season, averaging an absurd 8.1 yards per carry on 263 attempts en route to 2,118 yards, 19 touchdowns and a second-place finish in the Heisman voting. Now, set to play behind pretty much the same offensive line the Cardinal lose left guard David Bright but return four all-conference performers in the trenches, led by preseason first-team All-American Nate Herbig, he’s the popular pick to win college football’s most prestigious award.

Of course, while Love shouldn’t lack individual accolades, team success will hinge on the quarterback play.

Replacing Keller Chryst for wins over UCLA and Arizona State at the start of the year, and then again at midseason, K.J. Costello played the majority of eight games (seven starts) as a freshman last year, throwing for 1,377 yards, 14 touchdowns and four interceptions.

In those eight games with Costello under center, Stanford went 5-3 with wins over UCLA, Washington and Notre Dame, averaging 32.88 points per game. In the other six, they went 4-2 with 31.67 points per game (that number is a bit skewed by a 62-point effort against Rice, who went 1-11. Without that game, the Cardinal averaged just 25.6 points per game without Costello).

With Costello back healthy after missing spring practice due to a hip injury, with the country’s most productive running back behind one of the best offensive lines, and with a veteran receiving corps that includes All-American Kaden Smith at tight end, the Cardinal have the pieces to do some serious damage in 2018.

The schedule, though, isn’t doing them any favors.

In the opener, they host a San Diego State team that beat them last year. They should get revenge there, but after that is an immediate date with No. 15 USC. Then, after a should-be walkover in UC Davis in Week 3, they have back-to-back road games against No. 24 Oregon and No. 12 Notre Dame. Things don’t get much easier in the second half of the season, which features trips to Arizona State, Washington and UCLA.

Still, with as much talent that is on this team, getting back to double-digit wins and contending with Washington in the Pac-12 North is well within reason. David Shaw, who has five Top-12 finishes in his seven years as head coach in Palo Alto, has proven that his teams can never be overlooked.

Among many other sports channels, the main “Fubo” package comes with Fox, FS1, the Big Ten Network and even the BTN “extra football game channels”, which will show other Big Ten games when there are multiple on at the same time. It also has a lot of nice user experience features, including an interface that lets you search by sport, included DVR, and my personal favorite, a “72-hour lookback” feature, which lets you watch games on-demand up to three days later even without recording them.

However, while the basic “Sling Orange” or “Sling Blue” is a cheap entry point, you need to get both plus the “Sports Extra” add-on to get most of the channels that will show Wisconsin football games, plus Big Ten Network isn’t included and DVR is another add-on, so in the end, the pricing isn’t all that great.

All things considered, Hulu with Live TV is still the better overall value, and FuboTV will get you BTN (though not ESPN).

Note that ABC isn’t included, but you’ll still be able to watch the ABC games online via the ESPN digital platforms

Wisconsin Football Channels Included: ESPN and ESPN2 are part of the “Sling Orange” bundle, Fox and FS1 are part of the “Sling Blue” bundle, and ESPNU and ESPN News are in the “Sports Extra” add-on

Season Preview

Wisconsin got some flak about their schedule in 2017, but make no mistake about it: The Badgers were really good.

They won 13 games, which was the most in school history. They thoroughly dominated during Big Ten regular season play, winning all nine conference games by an average margin of 19.3 points. Even if you do have a soft schedule, you don’t do that in the Big Ten without being extremely good. They narrowly lost to Ohio State in the Big Ten championship, and when everyone was labeling them a “fraud,” they took down Miami in the Orange Bowl.

And the Badgers have the pieces to be just as good in 2018.

Alex Hornibrook is back under center with high expectations after smoking Miami for 258 yards, four touchdowns and zero interceptions in his last game. Jonathan Taylor piled up 2,072 yards from scrimmage and 13 touchdowns as a freshman and now stands a legitimate Heisman candidate. The entire offensive line is back, and led by All-Americans Beau Benzschawel and David Edwards, it’s arguably the best unit in the country. So are wide receivers A.J. Taylor and Danny Davis, who combined for 57 catches and 893 yards last year.

All-in-all, Wisconsin–who had Football Outsiders’ 24th most efficient offense last year–returns all but two starters on that side of the ball.

They face a bigger task on defense, where seven starters need to be replaced, but the Badgers still have perhaps the best linebacker corps in the country, led by T.J. Edwards and Ryan Connelly on the inside, and there’s plenty of talent on the other two levels, as well.

Many view Ohio State as the class of the Big Ten, but at the very worst, Wisconsin should be considered a co-favorite in the stacked conference.

“The goal is not, ‘On your best day, you can beat Ohio State’,” defensive coordinator Jim Leonhard said. “It’s how can you get to that position where you feel confident that if we just play our game, we’re going to be OK. That’s always a goal, what you’re fighting for as a coach, and, as players, that’s what they work for.”
