Players who enjoy playing with the Shockwave Hammer in Fortnite will find it’s no longer possible after Epic Games removed the item from all game modes on January 8.

This comes on the heels of a game-breaking bug where players were able to get unlimited bounces with it, essentially making them a mobility powerhouse with little to no counter. Obviously, players were easily able to abuse this bug and rack up victories if they knew what to do.

“Due to an issue, we have temporarily disabled the Shockwave Hammer in all playlists,” wrote Fortnite Status. “Our intent is to re-enable the Shockwave Hammer in the next game update when this issue has been resolved.”

Given how popular these hammers have been in the endgame, players will immediately notice they are gone, and depending on which side of the glitch they were on, they might find themselves winning games again.

This Has Been a Big Issue

While it’s not something you were going to run into every game, the Shockwave Hammer glitch was becoming tougher and tougher to ignore as they days went on, and Epic finally had to step in and do something.

“I play solo and I’ve seen it in more games than not, I was playing a lot so I saw it on like 10 separate occasions, and I saw it twice during the end with 5 or less people, I lost one of those to a person doing it as the last two people alive they jumped around 15 times and killed me,” wrote Reddit user Beautiful-Musk-Ox.

General awareness of the glitch started going up exponentially once players started posting the various ways they’ve been eliminated by it. Since Epic Games developers do browse the Fortnite subreddit, perhaps they felt the time was right for them to step in and remove it.

Glitchy Season So Far

The start of a new season, and chapter at that, is meant to be an exciting time. However, there have been a bunch of issues that have cropped up, and it has hurt the overall feeling of the season.

Popular Fortnite streamer Ninja even made a video about all of the issues and said he’d stop playing if they continue. Your mileage obviously varies, but the sheer number of glitches in the game, big and small, have been rough to deal with.

Taking out the hammer is a good start, but instead of just keeping it out of the game indefinitely like they did with the sand tunneling back in Chapter 2, they should work on getting things fixed.

The hammer has been a difficult item to deal with, and people were calling for its removal almost as soon as they saw it in the game, but the issues do run deeper than that.

Epic said the hammer will be back in the next game update, so the wait for it to return might not be very long, but that’s assuming the issue can be fixed. If you check out the game’s Trello board, you’ll see the developers have a huge list of things they are working on, so the next update could come with more than just the hammer fix.

A new chapter of Fortnite typically brings a lot of changes, but fans are fed up with the change to weekly challenges Epic Games made with Chapter 4.

Turning the page to a new chapter is meant to be exciting, and it many ways it was one, but the weekly challenges, the way that many players level up their Battle Pass to unlock new cosmetics, received a change that makes Fortnite a lot more grindy than it previously was.

Instead of hypothetically being able to log in on the final day of the season to complete all of your challenges, you’ll instead have to do them a week-by-week basis now. Once the week wraps up, the challenges are gone for good and you missed out on your chance for XP. It’s not the end of the world, but for players who relied on them for big chunks of XP, it means they have to log in and play a lot more than they had to in the past.

Fans Aren’t Happy

There are plenty of ways to level up over the course of a season, but finishing off challenges was definitely the easiest way to do it.

Many players don’t have a ton of time to play each day, so it was nice have the challenges always waiting upon logging in, but now taking a week off can be very detrimental.

“Why do weekly challenges have a time limit?” asked Reddit user ArthurENT.

The thread gained over 700 upvotes and his question was being asked by several other players who now argue it feels more like a chore to play Fortnite than it has in the past.

“The challenges have been limited because Epic would rather you buy V-Bucks than enjoy the game,” wrote Reddit user superficial_user.

For players who fall behind in their Battle Pass, spending V-Bucks has always been a way to catch up, but it comes at a price, so it’s not always the best idea unless you really want to finish it off.

Things Aren’t Likely to Change

The new chapter brought this change in, and while it hasn’t been received all that well, it doesn’t seem like Epic will revert them any time soon.

For what it’s worth, many players reach level 300 in a season, and that’s something that can only be done if you go above and beyond the challenges. Obviously, not everyone plays that often, and this change wouldn’t really impact them. This will instead affect the more casual players who hop on every now and then.

Fortnite has gone back on decisions in the past when there was fan uproar, so if people keep making their voices heard, then this could end up being a scenario when it happens. It’s tough to imagine that happening during the season, but stranger things have happened.

For the time being, fans will have to make sure they do their challenges on a week to week basis, and that means breaking the habits they’ve created for the past several years where the challenges were there all season.

If you’ve ever dreamed about what a fight between Game of Thrones’ Arya and Bugs Bunny would look like, then Multiversus is your chance to do just that.

The free-to-play fighting game is available in open beta now, and if you’re a fan of Smash Bros or Brawlhalla, then there’s a lot to like with this title. The main selling point of the title is the fact that numerous fan-favorite characters from DC Comics, Cartoon Network, and other Warner Bros. properties are in the game.

With Rick and Morty looming on the horizon, it seems that there are limits to who can come into the game, and it won’t just be limited to Warner Bros. characters either.

When asked on Twitter about why Mordecai and Rigby are not in the game as of right, Multiversus game director Tony Huynh explained that he’s doing what he can to get them in the game.

Regular Show Content Coming?

There are plenty of characters from the Warner Bros. stable house that can be chosen, so there will always be fan favorites being skipped over. However, the two main characters from Regular Show seem like they could be arriving sooner rather than later.

“I’ll try really hard, one of my favorite shows,” Huynh responded after being asked about adding the two characters.

Of course, wanting to add characters is totally different from them actually coming. It’s tough to say if there are any roadblocks to this happening.

Steven Universe and Adventure Time both have strong representation in Multiversus, so it’s not like Cartoon Network characters have been off the table. Regular Show is one of the most popular shows from the channel in the past decade, so there has to be some sort of reason the two characters didn’t arrive at launch.

As we’ve seen from Rick and Morty, post-launch support will be strong and it’ll bring in characters who didn’t arrive from day one.

Who’s Next?

From what we know, Rick and Morty are the very next characters that will be added into Multiversus, and not much else is known outside of that.

We do have a leaked list of characters that includes additional Game of Thrones characters, but there’s no telling if that means they’ll be next or not. House of the Dragon does release in August, so the timing could be good for more characters from that particular fantasy universe.

There are currently 17 characters in the game, and buying the highest tier Founders Pack gives you 30 of them, so there are certainly plans for adding characters to this game for quite a while.

So far, Multiversus is quite generous with the gold coins that can be used to unlock characters without spending any money. If you do decide to pick up the Founders Pack later on, you can use those character unlock tokens to grab new characters as they release instead of having to spend precious Glemium.

For the time being, fans can debate about whether or not their favorite characters will eventually make it into the game.

A new Fortnite season has arrived and with it has come a new comic book tie-in series.

This time around it’s Marvel’s turn to play in the Fortnite universe. Although we’ve already seen a small tie-in with the Nexus War back in Chapter 2, Marvel hasn’t gotten a chance to get a miniseries of their own.

Following in the footsteps of Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point, Marvel has its own five-issue miniseries. Instead of seeing DC Comics characters like Batman and Catwoman, we’re instead in Marvel’s playbox with names like Spider-Man, Shuri and Wolverine showing up.

If you purchase the comic books, you’ll not only get to experience the story as it plays, but you’ll also get some cosmetics in Fortnite. The first issue comes with the Spider-Man Zero Outfit, so you’ll have to pick that up if you want the skin.

How to Get Fortnite x Marvel Zero War

If your store doesn’t have any issues or if there isn’t one nearby, you can always order a copy online. A popular option for many people will be Midtown Comics, but there are plenty of other options out there if you look around.

Each issue will come with a cosmetic, so it can help to know the release dates. Here’s when you’ll have to head out to your comic stores:

• September 28 – Loading Screen

If this series follows in the same footsteps as the Batman series before it, you’ll be able to get all of the cosmetics in one collection once the trade comes out.

If you’re somebody who doesn’t want to purchase any comics, then you’ll be able to pick up most things in the Item Shop at a later date.

The Outfit, Pickaxe and Wrap will all be available in the Item Shop eventually, but the loading screen and spray will be comic book exclusive. For most people the Item Shop releases will be enough, but you will have to spend V-Bucks to get them.

Buying every issue of the comic and redeeming the five codes will get you an additional outfit. This will also become an Item Shop release down the road.

One of the first Valentine’s Day skins Fortnite ever released is the Love Ranger, so it makes sense this character has remained the mascot for the day for so long.

Well, as part of the trials, all you have to do is finish in the top 10 in a Solo match. No, you’ll have to do it more than once, so you either have to be really good at the game, or you have to spend a lot of your time hiding. Whatever the case may be, you’ll have to do it a lot because it seems like you’ll need 22 top 10 finishes to get every reward.

You can get signed up for the trials at this website, and it’s also where you’ll be keeping track of all of the progress you’re making. Every two top 10 finishes in Solo will give you a badge, and Epic says you’ll need to earn 11 of them in total to get every reward.

The site says the only playlist that’ll get you the prize is Solo, so don’t try and do this with a friend in another mode because it’s not going to work. On the bright side, you don’t have to earn them all on a Monday, but you have a few days to do so.

How Long Does it Last?

The Stoneheart Trials run from now until February 20, so you have about a week to get them all done. If you keep at it and actually try for the top 10 finishes, whether you’re good at Fortnite or not, you should be able to get all of this done with ease.

If you don’t finish the trials, you’ll miss out on some cosmetics, and as of right now it’s unclear if they’ll be coming to the Item Shop at a later date. A lot of cosmetics like this do, but Epic would usually confirm if that’s the case ahead of time.

On the website, you’re also able to vote for a Creative map that would be played for the Stoneheart Night Tournament, so make sure to do that as well while you’re checking on your stats.

We’re on the cusp of another Fortnite update and with it will come some pretty big things for the game.

Our last bit of downtime came with the return of Tilted Towers and that has been the source of a lot of excitement in Fortnite. Many players returned, even if was just for a day, to check out the debut of one of the most popular locations in all of video games.

While that was a nice update, it’s not enough to keep the players excited forever, so now we have the v19.20 patch to look forward to.

Like any numbered update like this, it’ll come with downtime for players to experience, so let’s get through all of that first before we get to the good stuff.

Fortnite v19.20 Downtime

Like most Fortnite updates, the v19.20 update will have downtime beginning at 4 a.m. ET / 1 a.m. PT on February 1. However, 30 minutes before this time, you’ll be removed from the game you’re in. You’ll want to make sure you’re all wrapped up by then because there’s no sense on missing out on any Victory Royales.

Downtime typically lasts for an hour or so, but you’re able to follow around with the leakers as they come out with information about the update in real-time, if that’s something you like to stay awake for.

While nothing as big as Tilted Towers is expected in this patch, it could still be fun to stay awake with them. When downtime is finished, you’ll have to then install the update on your console, PC or phone, and that can take a while depending on your internet speeds. Once all of that is done, you can see all of the new stuff the update has to offer.

Fortnite v19.20 Bug Fixes

Updates like this come with a variety of bug fixes as well, so you have those to look forward to. If you didn’t know how to check what’s coming, you can do so on the Fortnite Trello board.

If there’s a nagging bug happening to you on Fortnite, chances are good that Epic is aware of it. Here’s everything listed for a fix in this update.

• Spiderman’s Web Shooters drop with full uses from eliminated players.
• When navigating to the Compete Tab, the cursor automatically takes you to the far right of all the tournaments.
• Players respawning in the Creative Hub during games
• Charge Shotgun doesnt save in Item Spawner (Creative)
• Husks can damage objectives through player built structures in Deliver the Bomb (Save the World)

All in all, there aren’t a lot of issues currently affecting Fortnite that many players will notice, which is a good thing. Sometimes this list can be extremely long, so it’s nice to see a short one here and there.

What to Expect

Finally, we can get into what’s expected in this update and Fortnite leaker ShiinaBR came out with a whole list for us to get into.

This seems like it’ll be the patch that introduces the underground cavern POI that’s a bit like The Grotto from Chapter 2. This was a popular POI and it was always disappointing to see Epic get rid of it.

It sounds like we’ll be getting more Spider-Man skins, more challenges, an unvaulted Revolver and some more cosmetics for The Foundation.

This definitely has the makings of a good update, and we’ll know for certain what’s in once February 1 rolls around.

There has been a lot of crossover content in Fortnite, and one thing that has remained a staple is the addition of so many superhero skins.

Whether it’s DC or Marvel, there has been a lot of representation on that end. While Marvel did get a whole season to itself, there’s been plenty of DC Comics stuff, including a season that added Gotham City in place of Tilted Towers.

With so many Batman skins in the game as of right now, it makes sense that Epic and DC would want to shift directions and add somebody else. Although there are so many comic book characters in the game right, there’s always room for now.

Bloodsport from James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad came to Fortnite as part of promotion for the film, but there’s a certain character who has his own spin-off show on HBO Max that still hasn’t gotten any love.

Peacemaker, starring John Cena, would be a perfect addition to Fortnite and one fan even asked James Gunn about.

On January 27, a fan tweeted at Gunn asking about a Peacemaker skin and even floated an idea of what could come with it.

Gunn responded and said it’s up to Donald Mustard, who is Epic Games’ CCO. As it turns out, the two had a little bit of a back and forth and it certainly seems possible, perhaps even likely, that Peacemaker will come to Fortnite at some point.

“All right, most of those, you’re right, they could probably go to Fortnite,” Mustard said. “But I would NEVER put Ariana Grande in there! She looks too innocent.”

He then tags John Cena at the end of the tweet, so it seems like the three of them could certainly be cooking something up behind the scenes. With so many DC properties coming to the game over the years, it shouldn’t be all that surprising to see Epic team up with them again and add a character who’s currently crushing it in his HBO Max show.

Superhero Overload

The timing might be interesting because there has been a lot of superhero content so far in Chapter 3. In Season 1 alone we’ve seen a plethora of Spider-Man skins, two Hawkeye skins, and now Green Goblin.

There’s certainly room for more skins, but Epic should definitely be conscious of how often they are releasing. Marvel skins are big sellers, but they can be a big burden on somebody’s wallet if they aren’t prepared to drop big V-Bucks each time a new skin comes out.

Chapter 3 has been a nice mix of original and new styles in Fortnite, but it looks like things might be teetering back toward the collaborations, which is good news for those of you out there who love getting your hands on a new superhero skin.

As of right now, a Peacemaker skin is just something that’s being teased, but it seems likely that it’ll come to the game at some point in the near future.

The addition of pizzas to Fortnite when Spider-Man was always going to open the door for many meme opportunities, but we didn’t know that people would jump right on it after just a single day.

It’s no surprise that Spider-Man is one of the most popular superheroes in the whole world, so his debut in Fortnite as something to celebrate. There are many different suits available for him as well including a classic style, a Future Foundation suit, the Symbiote suit and even his No Way Home suits.

Also added were the Spider-Man Web Shooters that allow you to zip around the map with ease. Arena players are going to be seeing a big nerf to these in the v19.20 update, but the rest of the players will get to keep on enjoying them as normal.

One thing that was always missing from Fortnite since Spider-Man showed up is a nice box of pizza. Most players don’t automatically tie pizza into Spider-Man as that’s more of a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle character trait, but there’s a scene near the beginning of Spider-Man 2 that lives rent free in the minds of many people.

In that scene, Spider-Man has to race through New York City to deliver a pizza on time or else he loses his job. While he ultimately makes it, he is late and the pizza is free of charge and he loses his job as a delivery person.

Reddit user Yessir-Im-A-Pie decided to recreate the tail end of that scene in Fortnite, and for the most part, it works like a charm.

Pizza Time

It’s a very short clip, just a few seconds long, but users are already reacting positively to it with it gaining more that 300 upvotes at the time of this writing.

In the clip, you see Spider-Man come into the building and throw a pizza down onto the desk in front of a receptionist, with the line “pizza time,” playing over the video from the film.

It’s a short but simple recreation here and we’re sure fans of Fortnite and Spider-Man 2 are definitely going to appreciate it.

While the pizza might be good for the memes, it’s actually a very strong item to have in your inventory because it heals your health and shield at the same time while you’re eating.

It’s all about the power of the Slurpshroom as it mixes your traditional food with a healing mushroom. If you have a box of it, you can throw it down on the ground and share it with your squad.

For those of you out there trying to heal up your team after a long fight where you came out victorious, having a box of this pizza can come in handy. You can find them just about anywhere or you can buy them for 50 Gold a pop from Tomatohead in Tilted Towers. They’ll likely be around until the end of Season 1 at least, so enjoy!

Ever since their release, the Spider-Man Web Shooters have been one of the most important items to have in Fortnite, and Epic has been doing their best to keep them balanced.

With 80 shots, they can eventually run out but unless you’re just swinging around all game, it won’t ever be an issue. Some players would land on these gloves and immediately put them into a tent, something that Epic decided was too strong so they put an end to that.

Next week’s v19.20 update will make even more changes to the gloves, and the shots will be lowered from 80 to 20, but only in competitive playlists. This will make it so you have to be more strategic with your swinging, especially in end game situations. As it stands right now, the gloves are essentially free rotations, and the developers decided they were a bit too strong.

If you’re primarily somebody who plays in the regular public lobbies, then this change won’t have much of an impact on you. However, Arena players will feel the pain of this one because 20 shots can be used up quite easily.

Spider-Man Gloves Nerfed

Players have a week left to play with the gloves as they are, but that will all change in the v19.20 update that releases February 1.

Here’s how Epic explains it in the January 25 hotfix blog post.

In our v19.20 patch next week, we will be adjusting Spider-Man’s Web-Shooters to have 20 shots instead of 80 in competitive playlists. This lower count encourages players to make more strategic decisions about when to use the item, while retaining the item’s usefulness as a powerful mobility tool.

It seems like this could solve a lot of the problems in competitive at the moment because if you’ve been playing in or watching the Cash Cups so far, you’ll see how prevalent the Web Shooters have been.

With so many points being handed out for placements, tournaments have always encouraged staying alive, and it’s really never been easier to do except for maybe when Ballers were in the game.

Is It Enough?

Time will tell if this is a big enough change to make because we haven’t even seen how it works yet.

Players will definitely be more hesitant about their swinging and they’ll probably be driving in cars a lot more for the early game rotations. It’ll definitely have an impact on the upcoming tournaments, included the FNCS.

These competitive Fortnite players have had a lot to adjust to just by playing this game for years, so having things changed on them in the middle of a season is nothing new. It’s definitely an annoying thing to deal with, especially if your POI gets destroyed in the middle of season like Corny Crops near the end of Chapter 2.

Non-competitive players are in the midst of one of the most fun seasons yet, especially with the spray meta, so there’s not much to complain about from that end. For right now, enjoy swinging around while you still can.

If you’re just getting back into Yu-Gi-Oh! after a long absence, then Master Duel might feel like the perfect option for you.

The game meets a perfect blend for current players and returning players, but for those of you who haven’t played in 10+ years, things can get overwhelming fast. Gone are the days of setting a facedown monster in defense and passing, if you do that now then you have a good shot of losing the very next turn, even in Silver.

Instead, you’ll want to craft or collect some of the cards that will stop players from beating you on their first turn. You’ll quickly realize players know what they’re doing and the meta has greatly shifted since you last played. Turns can take several minutes to complete and you can see your opponent summon several monsters on a single turn.

Here’s what you’ll need to get in your deck to protect against those scenarios.

UR Cards

The Ultra Rare cards are going to be the best cards you can get, but they can also be the most difficult to come across. While the cost might be high for these, it’s important to work your way toward these and they have the added bonus of being able to be used across several decks.

Here’s a breakdown:

• Nibiru, The Primal Being
• Infinite Impermanence
• Forbidden Droplet
• Called By The Grave
• Lightning Storm
• Dark Ruler No More
• Harpie’s Feather Duster

All of these cards will let you hold your own against even the best players in Master Duel. Ash Blossom has the ability to negate effects and Maxx “C” lets you draw cards each time your opponent special summons. That would make these two cards a priority if we had to pick, but it comes down to preference.

There’s a fear that Maxx “C” could eventually be banned or limited, and if you spend your crafting materials on it just for that to happen, it’d definitely be a bummer.

SR Cards

Clear the board with Twin Twisters.

If you want to get collect some of the SR because you’re low on UR materials, we have you covered there as well. While there aren’t as many “staples” in this section, you’ll still find some good cards here.

As you might see from the list, “Pot of” cards can add a lot of value to a deck, so you’ll want to take a look at those and decide if they’re right for your deck.

Twin Twisters, in particular, adds a ton of value to a deck, especially if you’re going against a player who likes to swarm their field like an Eldlich player.

N & R Cards

Just because a card is N or R with its rarity doesn’t mean it can’t provide some value to a deck. Yes, these will be outclassed by better cards, but they can certainly work in a pinch.

If you’re coming over from Duel Links, you might be surprised to see cards like Bottomless Trap Hole and Enemy Controller have such low rarities, but that just shows you how evolved Master Duel is in comparison.

These aren’t bad cards by any means, but they are cards you won’t want to keep in your deck in the long run. All of them have their value, but if you have to make cuts, these are likely the cards you’ll be targeting.

Extra Deck Cards

Your Extra Deck is of vital importance in Master Duel because you’ll need to rely on fusions, links and XYZ summons to stay competitive.

You can get by without paying much attention to it, but you’ll eventually need to add to it.

• Knightmare Unicorn
• Knightmare Phoenix
• Borrelsword Dragon

If you’re building a certain deck, like Thunder Dragons as an example, you’ll want to add in the fusions like Thunder Dragon Titan and Thunder Dragon Colossus, but those are just important to that deck.

The cards listed above can work in any deck, and the Knightmare ones are of vital importance as they can wipe out your opponent’s board with ease.

If you’re running into a monster with an insanely higher ATK number, Borrelsword Dragon is your guy. Of course, having them in your deck and knowing when to play them is a different thing entirely.

These should be good options for you to get started, so get to crafting!

The Klombos may have only been in Fortnite for about a week, but players are already coming with creative ways to ulilize them, and some have even found out how to win a game with them.

For the most part, you’ll want to leave these dinosaurs alone as they can reward you with some valuable loot and can become very dangerous when provoked. For added incentive, you might want to keep them around because Epic is already making threats if you kill them.

While you would normally want to avoid fighting one, they can actually be valuable assets in a fight, like we saw from this player who managed to lock down a Victory Royale without having to eliminate his enemy himself. Let’s take a look.

Big Brain Play

It definitely wasn’t necessary to win, but Reddit user Nimbl_ angered the Klombo and brought it into the final circle to get a win.

The Klombo broke down all of the builds and forced both players onto the ground for the rapidly closing circle, but instead of going after who shot it in the first place, the dinosaur instead attacked and eliminated the opponent.

While Nimbl_ was given the Victory Royale, he made sure to give all of the praise to the Klombo by pointing at it after securing the win. Most circles don’t close next to a Klombo like we saw here, but you can see that if they do, it might be worth bringing it in on the fun. You just witnessed the best case scenario, so try not to be on the other end of it.

Some players have spoken up about having the option to lead a Klombo with a new item, but it looks like this might be the next best thing if that option never becomes available.

How Do You Like Them?

The Klombo has been a cool addition to Fortnite because you can use them in a variety of ways. As we saw, you can even get a win with them, but that’s definitely not going to be the norm.

Instead you might want to use these dinos for nice rotations and a way to get some loot if you come across them.

Throughout Chapter 2, we saw Epic Games lean heavily into the addition of wildlife in Fortnite, and it looks like they don’t plan on slowing down in Chapter 3. While Raptors, Boars and the like have never really come to the level of Klombo, it always seemed like it’d be building to something like this.

We’re sure many players are glad to see the Raptors aren’t around anymore because those things would just hunt you down if you didn’t eliminate them, and they would become a real pest in a fight. The Klombos don’t attack unless attacked, so you can casually be having a build fight next to them and they won’t care unless a stray bullet finds a way to hit them. Once that happens, you’ll be in big trouble.

The Klombo is one of the newest additions to Fortnite and since its arrival it has gifted many players with the loot they needed to win a match.

The loot it gives you is always a coin flip because you really have no idea what to expect when you run into one of these on the island, and it seems like you can either get something that’ll lead you to a win, or something that won’t benefit you at all.

What we do know is that it has the ability to drop some very rare loot and a Klombo is definitely worth approaching and even feeding a few times for some new loot. At the very least, you’ll want to use the air coming off the beast to get a quick rotation in.

If you’re trying to figure out what you might get from the Klombo before you go up to it, then we have you covered.

Klombo Loot Drops

As is the case with many things in Fortnite, we know exactly how something works thanks to HYPEX.

He revealed that if you go up to Klombo, you’ll have a 60 percent chance to come away with an uncommon item. Things get significantly rarer from there, and it all results in a 0.7 percent chance to get a Legendary SMG. These SMGs are among the strongest weapons in all of Fortnite, so it makes sense it’s that rare.

• 60% chance to get an uncommon item
• 25% chance to get a rare item
• 10% chance to get an epic item
• 5% chance to get a legendary item

Uncommon items are of green rarity, so it can help if you’re just landing, but don’t expect to get incredible loot here each time. More realistic options would be green guns and maybe a medkit. That’s not to say it’s bad landing on one, just try not to do it in Solos because you’re probably not going to be able to win that match.

Don’t Anger It

If you do land next to a Klombo, you’ll want to do everything in your power to not get it mad because it can instantly send you back to the lobby.

For whatever reason, if you find that you’ve aggro’d the monster, you’ll have to feed it some Klomberries to settle it down. If you have some berries if your inventory, you’ll also be able to use those to heal yourself, so overall the Klombo has been a nice addition to the game.

Epic has liked them so much that they have already threatened to destroy Tilted Towers if anything happens to them. In all seriousness, it appears that these will be here at least through the end of Season 1. If players like having them around enough, perhaps we can even see the Klombos stay in the game throughout the entirety of Chapter 3.

Only the developers know the true plans for this big dinosaur, so make sure you let them know if you like or dislike seeing them roam around the map.

While we first saw the Klombo, Fortnite’s massive new dinosaur, in the Chapter 3 trailer, it has only just now been introduced into the game.

As part of the big v19.10 update that brought Tilted Towers back to the game, we now have this dinosaur roaming around the island. It didn’t take long for it to become a fan-favorite, and that sort of thing tends to happen with some of Fortnite’s cute creations.

Epic even got in on the fun by threatening to destroy Tilted Towers if anything were to happen to Klombo. At this point it’s tough to tell if they’re being serious, but we don’t want anything to happen to Klombo either.

This creature gives you loot if you feed it and it can also give you a free rotation around the map thanks to the wind tunnel coming off him. If you find yourself in a situation where it’s attacking you, all you have to do is feed the Klombo one of the new Klomberries to calm it down.

Some fans want to take that a step further and allow you to guide the Klombo with the berries. Here’s how it’d work.

Lead the Klombo

The suggestion, first floated by Reddit user Brajker, would have players attach one of the berries to the end of a fishing rod. Then, you would jump on top of the Klombo and guide it by casting the line. It’d be a similar idea to a carrot on a stick, and this would actually make a lot of sense within the confines of Fortnite. Minecraft has a similar concept that you guide animals with, so why not Fortnite?

It’s clear this idea has some legs because it has over 1,000 upvotes on Reddit at the time of this writing, and we’re sure players outside of Reddit would like to see something like this happen as well.

For some players, Fortnite is just a way to hang out with friends and have fun, so what could be more fun that getting a whole squad on top of one of these dinosaurs and riding it around? It likely wouldn’t result in many wins, but it would be fun to try out once or twice.

Perhaps the team that’s fighting your squad could hit Klombo while they are aiming at you and then it would be pandemonium for everybody involved.

Could Epic Do This?

Epic Games adds new features all the time to Fortnite, so this could definitely be in the cards. Things players never even thought of when the game first launched like swimming, fishing, driving cars, etc., eventually came to the game.

If you think back to Chapter 2, there was a cloak you could craft that would let you tame animals, and you can use the chickens to fly around with, so the wildlife in Fortnite has always been interactive in that way. Adding a berry on a stick item would be the biggest step forward the developers have ever taken, but it’s definitely not out of the realm of possibilities.

We’re nearing the end of January and that means another Fortnite Crew Pack is right over the horizon.

Epic tends to reveal the whole set just before the month ends, but it looks like leakers have gotten that out of the way for us and shown us what skin we’ll be getting. We don’t have a look at the other cosmetics, but the skin is definitely the main attraction of these bundles.

Lately, the offerings have been a bit poor for many players, so Epic is going to need something good to get players back on the right track. If the leaked image is anything to go by, then we might be looking at yet another controversial month as this one might have difficulties winning players over.

Keep in mind that this is just a leak for the time being and we don’t have official confirmation from Epic about whether or not this is indeed the Crew skin.

Leaked Skin

According to an image posted by ShiinaBR, the leaked Fortnite Crew skin for February will be a golden character wearing some neon clothes. It’s tough to tell exactly what Epic is going for here, but for those of you who were hoping Peacemaker would find a way into Fortnite through the Crew Pack, it will come as a disappointment.

There was a lot of chatter near the end of Chapter 2 about Epic returning to more original skins, but those skins have now been very hit or miss. The reality is that collaborations are some of the coolest skins in all of Fortnite, and judging by the upcoming Marvel skins, it doesn’t look like that’ll stop being the case.

With that said, there’s always room in Fortnite for more originality, so fans won’t want collaborations to completely take over.

We’ll likely find out if this is the next Crew skin in a matter of days, so if you don’t like it then there’s still a chance that you might get a different skin. If you’re interested, you still have time to pick up the current pack.

When Does the Next Pack Come Out?

New Crew Packs have typically released on the last day of the month during the Item Shop reset, which means this one will likely release January 31 at 7 p.m. ET.

If you’re a subscriber, you’ll see your locker get updated with the new gear around this time. The Crew subscription also comes with more than just cosmetics. Subscribers also get a monthly allowance of 1,000 V-Bucks and the Battle Pass if they haven’t already purchased it.

It’s a nice deal for players who like the offering, and you’re free to cancel the service at any time. If you do cancel, you’ll still keep all of the skins you purchased, but you will miss out on any future ones you’re not subscribed for. All of the skins given out through the subscription are exclusive, meaning non-subscribers will never be able to get them again.

There haven’t been a ton of “can’t miss” skins that have released, but if you’re somebody who likes to collect all the superheroes, then you might be bummed to know you missed out on Green Arrow.

If you’ve been playing Fortnite since its release, then you’ve likely come across a sky base or two during your time, and you might’ve even been the culprit behind building one yourself.

In Chapter 3, you have the ability to build even stronger ones thanks to the Armored Walls, so if you’re interested in getting an even stronger sky base into the mix, then now is your chance.

The key to a sky base is to have a good portion of it reinforced and safe, so you’ll want to make it pretty wide at some point so you don’t get shot out. With the Armored Walls, you can not only make it wide, but you can make it near indestructible.

When you have a pair of Spider-Man’s Web Shooters in your inventory, you become practically unbeatable. However, to get enough Armored Walls for this type of base, you’re going to need a Tent. While they were recently nerfed, it’s not enough to stop this strategy from happening.

Fortnite YouTuber Lachlan came out with a video that showed the strength of this strategy, and how it can shine if you spend time collecting walls and have a squad to do it with.

Make Your Own Sky Base

In his video from January 13, Lachlan showcases how powerful an unbreakable sky base can be. He does this with a group of friends and a near bottomless supply of Armored Walls.

His method of getting the walls is likely something you won’t be able to do as he asked his Discord channel to collect them for him, so that’s hundreds of players all tracking down walls and then giving them to him.

With his four-man squad all carrying a massive stack of walls, all they had to do then was carry a tent so they could store them when they reach the top and then sit back and wait for wins.

Enemies can try to shoot this out, but destroying an Armored Wall takes a lot of time, and if the whole structure is as wide as it is in this video, then players are going to have an extremely tough time trying to shoot this down.

As you can see, this strategy can still get you wins, but the only problem is you might be getting too bored on top of the map.

Collect Those Walls

The thing that makes this strategy work is collecting an overabundance of Armored Walls and then storing them into your tent.

Walls aren’t hard to find, but getting thousands of them is, so you’ll need to start collecting now and check back in a week or so if you want to pull this strategy off. You’ll also have to hope Epic doesn’t make any more changes to the tents because they are of vital importance.

At the end of the day, this is a fun strategy to play around with and if you’re on the losing end of it, you can’t be too upset because the player definitely put a lot of time into preparing for it.

It’s only been one day since Tilted Towers has returned to Fortnite and it has brought a lot of players back to the game.

Streamers like Dr Disrespect, TimTheTatman, and NICKMERCS have all come back for at least a day to experience to nostalgia, and that can only mean good things for the future of the game. While people like to call Fortnite a dead game, the reality is that it’s far from that.

Tilted Towers is a big deal, and although we’ve seen variations of it over the years such as Neo Tilted, Salty Towers, and even Tilted Town, this latest iteration is the closest we’ve come to the original, and it’s created a lot of excitement.

Just one day after bringing it back through the v19.10 update, Epic Games is threatening to take it away if we don’t treat the new dinosaur well.

Leave Klombo Alone

On January 19, just a day since the update, Epic warned players about harming the new Klombo that’s roaming around the map.

“We’ve only had Klombos for a day, but if anything happened to them, we would eliminate all of Tilted,” they wrote.

There’s a very good chance this is just a joke, but it goes to show that they mean business. Tilted has been taken away from us before, so Epic definitely has the power to do it again. In all seriousness, we’re probably going to have Tilted for at least the rest of the season.

As for the Klombos, we’ll likely be seeing them stick around for the long haul because they were just added. Epic has seemed to like having wildlife in the game, so this might end up being an interesting replacement for dinosaurs or something of that nature.

The difference here is the Klombo isn’t hostile when you come across it, but it will become aggressive if you try and fight it.

What Does Klombo Do?

If you’re somebody who’s wondering what the point of this massive beast is, then we have some information for you.

When you come across it for the first time, you’ll definitely want to go right up to it, because not only can you use your glider redeploy by launching off it, you can also get some loot from its mouth.

Dropping some Klomberries in its path will get it excited and you’ll see it almost immediately suck up the berries. If you wait a little bit, the dinosaur will actually pop out some loot, but your mileage on how good it is will definitely vary. You might be able to get a medkit if you’re in dire need of healing, so you can get that if you feed the Klombo.

If you do get the beast angry, you’ll have to feed it some berries to make it happy again. If you don’t have any of those on hand, you’ll want to run away as far as you can because this is not a fight worth taking if you plan on coming away with a Victory Royale.

The latest Fortnite update brought back one of the most popular points of interest in not only Fortnite, but in all of gaming.

That’s right, Tilted Towers has returned to the hit battle royale as part of the v19.10 update, but that’s not the only thing that’s back with this new patch.

We are also seeing the return of the Grenade Launcher yet again, but instead of being a weapon you can angle shots with, the grenades now explode on first impact and deal less damage than before. It’s a good weapon for pressuring enemies, but it won’t be as lethal as it was.

This is good news for players who want to try out some new things in the game, but it’s also important to know how the existing guns work now. Epic has been working on ways to make the meta more balanced this season, and it has resulted in buffs to shotguns and nerfs to the MK7 and SMG. The v19.10 has given us even more tweaks, and these ones might feel much more noticeable.

More Weapon Nerfs

The last balance change adjusted the damage done to players by the MK7 and SMG by lowering it across the board.

This latest update brings the to builds down across the board, while also lowering the damage the Ranger Assault Rifle does as well.

Here’s how it plays out according to HYPEX:

• MK7 Builds Damage: 20/21/22/23/24/25 to 17/18/19/20/21/22
• Ranger Rifle Damage & Builds: 30/31/32/33/34 to 31/32/33/34/35

The Ranger Assault Rifle hasn’t typically received many changes, but this takes the already not popular weapon and makes it worse. It’s clear that Epic was having a problem this season with players just spraying through walls, and this is their way of adjusting it.

Weapon balance changes have come very often so far this season, and there’s a good chance we haven’t seen the last of them. Whether any of this will switch up how players play this season remains to be seen.

Will You Stop Spraying?

The problem with these balance changes is that even if you make the MK7 do less damage, it’s still one of the strongest weapons Fortnite has ever seen thanks to the aim-down-sights feature that lets you just beam other players.

Even if it’s not doing as much damage as before, if you’re not missing any of the shots players are still going to go down fast. It will now do much less damage to builds which means you might not be able to just spray into structures anymore, which is definitely the idea Epic is going for.

At its core, Fortnite has always been a game about building and these tweaks help bring it back to that vision, but with the SMG getting no changes, this seems like it’ll still be an issue going forward. Don’t be surprised to see a future hotfix nerf the Stinger damage to builds in the coming days.

In the meantime, we can all enjoy the glory that is Tilted Towers and pretend it’s 2018 all over again.

If you want to get your hands on this gun, you can find it in chests, Supply Drops or by killing a shark, according to Epic Games’ blog post.

There’s a big difference with this Grenade Launcher, however, as it’ll do a lot less damage that it ever did, but it will now explode on the first bounce. This means you won’t be able to angle your shots anymore, but instead you’ll want to just aim directly at your opponent.

Here’s how Epic explains it:

The Grenade Launcher is back and we’ve made some tweaks to its responsiveness! Projectiles now explode after their first bounce and fire more directly at your target.

You can find Grenade Launchers from Rare Chests, Supply Drops, and… sharks.

It’s an interesting change and it means you can now apply constant pressure to an enemy. This will be a strong weapon in Solos, Duos, Trios and Squads because of this simple change. It will be a tough decision when you try and figure out what you want to bounce from your inventory to carry this gun instead.

Big Update Here

Of course, the Grenade Launcher is just a small part of this update. Everything we’ve seen in the initial Chapter 3 trailer is now here, including the massive dinosaur.

This creature’s name is Klombo, and according to Epic, it was theorized that there was a large creature like this living on the island the whole time but it was just hiding. Well, now it’s here and if you don’t shoot at it, it’ll be friendly to you.

If you feed it some of the Klomberries you find around the island, you can even get some loot from it. If you manage to make it angry and it starts attacking you, you can calm it down by feeding it these berries too. Eating the berries yourself will also give you a healing boost.

Tilted Towers is definitely the main attraction of Tuesday’s update because it’s back in almost its original form. There are even hills around the area much like there were back in Chapter 1. When we saw Salty Towers earlier in Chapter 2, it was surrounding by a lot of flatlands, so while it was cool to have back, it just wasn’t the same.

This time around it looks like Epic decided to right their wrongs and now we’re looking forward to game ending before the first circle closes.

If you’re somebody who likes winning matches of Fortnite, you might be somebody who likes getting the best loot they can possibly get to start a game off.

There’s a lot that goes into getting a win, and a lot more goes into getting them consistently, so you’ll need to make sure you have a very good drop spot. Drop spots vary for every player, but there’s actually a place you can go that has a guaranteed llama, and it’s not very popular for other players to land at.

Getting a llama to start your game can be a massive boost since you’ll have a ton of ammo, building materials and a lot of healing items to move forward with. Well, you might be interested in knowing where you find a llama in every game.

To the south of Logjam Lumberyard and west of Shifty Shafts, there’s a little shack that houses Lt. John Llama. Well, it turns out that John Llama is also housing a llama of his own here. You can get a better look at what we’re talking about in the above map from Fortnite.gg.

Every single game you play has a llama spawn in his corral, so if you make this your new drop spot, you’ll be able to get a free llama each time. Keep in mind that there’s not a ton of loot in the area, so you might struggle killing the llama if the only thing you find is a pistol.

There is a chest spawn inside of the shack and you can buy an item from the NPC, so there are definitely plenty of options for you here, especially if you have the Gold to buy them.

Killing a llama is a loud affair, so you might attract some unwanted attention from nearby that players might check out. The thing that is working in your favor is that this location is just far enough away from a named area that you might not get anybody coming over right away, and if they are they might not have a ton of loot.

Where to Go Next

After getting the llama loot, you have a lot of choices on where you’ll want to go next. You have the option of going straight into another POI with your new loot, and you can easily clean up a few fights with your overabundance of materials.

Another option would be to simply keep on looting up by moving south along the road. There are several stopping points where you can crack open a few chests and get even more loot. Basically, you have to do what you feel is right and you’ll also have to keep an eye on how the storm is closing in around you.

The llama is definitely an excellent start, but getting it first won’t always guarantee you the win. If you’re playing in Duos, Trios or Squads, you’ll want to make sure you at least share some of the loot with your teammates so you don’t find yourself being eliminated by yourself with everything on you.

The tornadoes that we saw in the Fortnite Chapter 3 trailer have finally arrived in the game as part of a new hotfix.

The January 11 hotfix added tornadoes and lightning to the game, but instead of being afraid of these new massive weather events, Epic is encouraging players to embrace them. In real life you’d definitely want to avoid situations like this, but there are plenty of benefits to being hit by lightning or being sucked up by a tornado in Fortnite.

This is one of the biggest updates we’ve seen in Fortnite so far this season, and it’s not even the big patch that comes with downtime.

Let’s take a look at what these new tornadoes can do.

Don’t Fear the Tornado

If you come across a forming tornado, instead of getting out of the way of it, you might want to consider going into it because you can get sucked up and use it as a way to rotate.

Here’s what Epic says:

“If you see a tornado start to form, that’s no signal to flee,” says the blog post. “Instead, run into it as a swirling escape strategy! You’ll spin round and round ‘til you choose to glide to safety — or if you stay spinning long enough — ‘til the twister spits you out. Don’t worry: you won’t take fall damage if you get hurled.”

You’ll be able to find the tornadoes by keeping an eye on the skies. You;’ll see a dark cloud and then a funnel coming out of it, so it’s quite hard to miss if you’re actually looking for one. However, the lightning might be more common to come across, and you shouldn’t fear those strikes either.

Stand in Lightning

The lightning works a bit different than the tornadoes do because getting struck does damage you, but it also gives you a small speed boost. It’s similar to eating a hot pepper, so consider getting struck once or twice to see if you like it.

Here’s how Epic explains it:

If you see a dark cloud start to form, that’s not necessarily a signal to flee either. Sure, the lightning from it deals a small amount of damage (and sets the surrounding area on fire) but the power of its shock gives players a temporary speed boost.

How to increase your chance of getting struck by lightning? Jump into a body of water beneath the cloud, or reach the highest land point under it! Lightning doesn’t strike twice back-to-back — once you’ve been struck, lightning won’t strike you again right after.

Standing in water will make you more likely to be struck, so if you’re really trying to get hit, give that one a try. Another simple way to get struck is to build up to the cloud itself and meet the bolt at its source.

To top it all off, tornado week kicks off today and runs until January 17. This means that tornadoes have their highest chance of spawning in a game so players get to experience the new content.

For right now, you won’t be seeing any of this in a competitive playlist.

It’s now January which means Winterfest has finally come to a close and the next stage of Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 1 is now in full swing.

Epic hasn’t come up with a big update in Fortnite since they introduced Winterfest, but there have been some smaller patches that have progressed some elements along.

However, the map changes have shown they don’t even need a patch with downtime to start happening as the first changes have already gotten underway.

Chapter 3 gave us a brand-new map to explore, but we’ve been playing with it for a month or so it is beginning to get a bit stale. While this latest map change hasn’t brought a new location to explore, it is bringing changes.

Snow Melting Begins

You’ll notice that when you load into the game, the snow might not be covering as much as it previously was, but it might help to know just how much of it has melted.

In the video posted by Fortnite leaker HYPEX, you can look at a time lapse of just how much of it is gone since the end of Winterfest, and it’ll continue to melt away in the coming days and weeks.

Snow melting isn’t all that exciting, but it’s what’s coming after this snow melts that will have players excited. We’ve known for a while now that some big changes are on the horizon, and it starts with the return of the IO Guards to the game. Their driller has already shown up on the map, and where the IO are, trouble usually seems to follow.

This month’s Crew Pack has given us a new Doctor Slone skin, so it’s clear she’s not done with the island as of yet, and that’s just bad news for everybody.

Tilted Towers Still Coming

HYPEX also notes that Tilted Towers is still coming this season, and it’s currently lining up with the release of the v19.10 update, which is set to release on January 18 according to the leaker.

“The 3rd snow stage goes live on the 10th (in 3 days), Tilted Towers is on Stage 6,” he wrote. “So if it melts every 3 days then we SHOULD get Tilted Towers, The IO & Their Cave POI, Butter Cake, Grenade Launchers & 19.10 on the 18th which is Tilted Towers’ birthday, BIG content day.”

Unfortunately, this does seem to confirm that we aren’t getting a big update next week, but instead we’ll have to wait a bit longer. We should be getting more snow melting in the coming days, and if we’re able to hold out for at least another week, it looks like the wait should pay off.

At the very least, we should be getting more development from the IO Guards and that means changes are on the way. Make sure you check out the diggers because you should be able to get a strong SMG off the guards in the area and you can open up one of the rare IO chests. Who knows, maybe it could even lead you to your next Victory Royale.

We’re now into the new year and it’s been a rough go of it in Fortnite so far. Perhaps due to the Epic Games Store giving away a daily free game throughout much of the Winterfest event, there were some server overloads.

This typically happened around 11 a.m. ET, but there were some days where the problem persisted for several hours. In fact, it got so bad that Epic had to completely take Fortnite offline on December 29 to implement some fixes.

When the game did come back online, Epic promised some sort of reward for the missed time, and on January 5, they let players know just what that would be.

Free Present Revealed

Anybody who logged in during Winterfest, which is still going on until January 6, will be getting the new Crescent Shroom Pickaxe before it arrives in the Item Shop.

The way this is worded sounds like players who haven’t played Fortnite at all through Winterfest will still have the opportunity to grab this pickaxe along with all the other gifts they might’ve missed out on.

There are a lot of things presents to get, so it’s well worth checking out, especially since they are all free. Don’t worry about the lingering present notification once you opened everything because it’s not real.

Fortnite is also hosting a Power Leveling Weekend from January 7 to 10, just as an added bonus to those who lost time during the Winterfest event. These weekends are always a perfect time to get leveled up and unlock the variant styles like Spider-Man that Chapter 3 has to offer so far.

“As thanks for everyone’s patience during the December login issues, we’ll be kicking off a Power Leveling Weekend from 1/7 @ 7 PM to 1/10 @ 7 AM ET and granting everyone who logged in during Winterfest the new Crescent Shroom Pickaxe before it arrives in the Shop later,” says Epic.

Madcap Pickaxe

Getting a free pickaxe is cool and all, but it might help to know what it looks like so you can get hyped up for it.

Thanks to Fortnite leaker ShiinaBR, we have an early look at this axe, and we have to say that it does look pretty nice.

Free gifts are always nice no matter what they are, and while this might not be what everyone was hoping for, it’s still a nice gesture after a week of problems plagued the game.

We don’t know the price of the pickaxe on its own, but it might be around 1,000 V-Bucks, so this could end up being some nice value if you already planned on picking it up.

Arguably the bigger part of this deal is the Power Leveling Weekend because players who have already finished off their Battle Pass and are into the real grind for the variant styles can use all the help they can get.

If there’s one thing for certain, it’s that we can expect to see a lot of players rocking this skin because if there’s one thing free-to-play players like, it’s free things. Expect to see defaults with these Crescent Shroom Pickaxes all over the place.

It’s time yet again for another Fortnite Crew Pack and this time we’ll be getting a new twist on a familiar villain in the game.

Near the end of Chapter 2, Doctor Slone popped up as one of the leaders of the IO, and with the help of Kevin the Cube and The Foundation, she was defeated. However, it looks like she has found a way to persist into Chapter 3.

While she’s not officially back as a character on the map, players do have the chance to get their hands on a new version of her as a skin.

Introducing the Snow Stealth Slone outfit, this new skin can be obtained by anybody picking up the January 2022 Fortnite Crew Pack. This will be only way for players to get her, so if you decide to skip this month, she’s gone for good.

January 2022 Crew Pack Contents

The Crew Pack costs $11.99 a month, and with it you’ll get a monthly allowance of 1,000 V-Bucks, exclusive cosmetics and each season’s Battle Pass if you haven’t already bought it.

Lately, Epic has been offering a Crew Legacy Set which rewards players for being long-term subscribers.

Here’s what’s included this month:

• Snow Stealth Slone (Winter Sunset Variant Style)
• Snow Stealth Hardcase Back Bling
• Sleet Spike Pickaxe
• Snow Stealth Wrap

This skin will be available to subscribers beginning December 31 at 7 p.m., which is when the Item Shop resets. You might not be given the skin immediately, so just be patient if it’s not in your locker right at that time.

Getting another Slone skin might prove to be disappointing to many players, but it does show that Fortnite plans on keeping her around. At the very least, this seems to be confirmation that the IO will play a role in the game going forward.

So Long, Cube Assassin

When a new Crew Pack releases, it means bad news for what’s there already. In this case, it means the Cube Assassin skin and all of the accompanying cosmetics will be disappearing for good on December 31.

Anybody who subscribed for the pack will keep all of the cosmetics in their locker forever, but the style will no longer be obtainable to anybody who missed out.

The Crew Packs don’t always tie into what’s going on during the season, but it’s looking like December and January will both do that. Cubes played a big part in the final season of Chapter 2, and now it’s looking like Slone has an opportunity to do the same in Chapter 3.

You might remember that the very first Crew Pack featured the DC Comics hero Green Arrow, so we’ve come a long way from that. The skins have obviously been up and down throughout the course of the Crew Pack, and Doctor Slone will either be really good news or really bad news depending on who you ask.

The good thing is you can cancel the subscription at any time and decide to come back in the future.

The start of Fortnite Chapter 3 has been filled with players swinging around the map with Spider-Man’s Web Shooters, but there hasn’t been much going on with the island itself.

We know that Epic Games has a lot of plans in store for the season and the map will start changing next month, but the first development happened on December 24, just a day before Christmas.

The Seven have their own little island to the right of the map that has been covered with hatches. Up until now, nothing was going on with them. When you log into Fortnite now and check out this side of the map, you’ll see a massive rocket coming out of one of them.

This appears to be our first development of the season and it gives us a glimpse into what to expect going forward.

The Rocket is Out

Fortnite leaker HYPEX posted a screenshot of one of those islands out by The Foundation’s statue and it shows that one of the rockets has come out of the ground to play.

At the moment, there’s not a lot going on here, and we might have to wait for the rest of the rockets to come out before we see anything happening. It might end up taking a long time for that to happen, and there’s a possibility it might not even happen until the end of the season in a few months.

Map changes were very slow in Chapter 2, but with a clean slate in Chapter 3, it looks like Epic already has plans to avoid that. The rockets coming out of the ground is a good start, but players are going to need to see a whole lot more if they want to get that trust back.

The freshness of a new season can only take you so far, so it’ll be interesting to see what else Epic has planned. So far, Winterfest has created a lot of excitement, so there’s no reason to doubt they can’t keep it up.

Snow Will Melt

Already revealed through a recent leak, the snow on the map will melt throughout the season, but that alone doesn’t do a whole lot for players other than showing winter is ending, even though it just began.

However, leaks have also shown us that perhaps the most famous location of Fortnite ever will be returning with Tilted Towers. We’ve seen many variations of this POI over the years, with the most recent one being Chapter 2’s Salty Towers, but it always gets fans excited when it comes back.

We don’t know the exact time this location will return, but it does seem like it’ll be happening sometime in the near future. Most likely, it’ll happen on the other end of Winterfest, so we’ll have to get through that first.

Then, we’ll be able to set our sights on the rockets because we might see even more of them on the surface by then. There’s still a lot of season left, so buckle up!

Winterfest has arrived in Fortnite and with it comes a new set of quests to complete for rewards and some much-needed XP.

Most of the quests are completed in-game, but there’s one of them that seems to be trickier than the others. If you’re here reading this right now, then that means you’re stumped as well.

As it turns out, warming yourself at the Yule Log in the Cozy Lodge isn’t something you do on the map, but it’s instead a place you’ll need to navigate to through the main menu of the game. It’s in the same place you open up your daily Winterfest gifts, so if you haven’t done the quest by now, chances are pretty decent that you’ve missed it entirely.

Here’s how to get this quest done and out of the way before it goes away for good early next year.

How to Find the Yule Log

Finding the Yule Log is very simple as all you have to do is go to the main lobby area of your Battle Royale area and click on the button that takes you to the Winterfest cabin.

This can be found at the very top of your screen if you scroll all the way over to the right. It’s indicated by the snowflake icon, so it’s tough to miss.

Once you’re in the cabin itself, you’ll want to click on the man sitting in the chair instead of the presents. Doing that will allow you to select the log and you’ll complete this quest.

• Go to the Winterfest Lodge
• Click on Sgt. Winter
• Click on the Yule Log
• Finish the Challenge

If you’re feeling particularly cold, you can keep on warming yourself by the log for a nice little treat. As it turns out, this log can be a source of XP and some ambient noise throughout the day.

Level Up at the Log

If you stay at the Yule Log, you’ll see it crackle every now and then and give you some XP. So far, we’ve seen it give out 10, 20, 100 and even 1000 XP. According to HYPEX, there’s a chance you can even get 5,000 XP out of it. It’s not the most efficient way of leveling up, but it’s something you can do by just leaving your console or PC on the whole day and sitting there.

Yule logs are popular and the Fortnite one does offer that crackling and burning noise that people seem to like, so there are definitely worse options out there. This log has the added bonus of rewarding players with XP, so you might as well give it a try.

You’re probably not going to be finishing off your Battle Pass or anything like that through this method, but it’s an added touch. This log will be here to stay throughout the duration of Winterfest, so you have plenty of time to check it out and see everything it has to offer.

At the very least, you’ll want to come through and complete your Winterfest quest. Everything else is just an extra bonus that you can take advantage of.

As part of the Fortnite Winterfest festivities, Epic Games is giving away a skin completely free of charge.

If you’ve been around for Winterfest in the past, you’ll know this is nothing new because this is the season of giving after all. In fact, there’s a lot more that’s being given away for free here, so you’ll want to make sure you log in daily.

Winterfest officially begins December 16, so we’re still a few days out from the start of it, but you can definitely still look forward to.

If you’re somebody who plays Fortnite on PC, there’s actually an exclusive skin available for you. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen Epic do something like this, but it’s a first for Chapter 3.

Epic Games Store Exclusive

Okay, buckle in because this one might become complicated. There is a blue variant of Blizzabelle that can be seen above, and this one is available free of charge for PC players.

All you’ll have to do is log on between December 16 and January 6, which is time Winterfest runs for, and you’ll get this skin for free. Remember, this is just for Epic Games Store players, so you have to be on PC. Perhaps an option would be to install Fortnite on your laptop or something just to launch the game.

Even if your computer can’t run Fortnite, it sounds like all you’ll need to do is make it to the main menu, so maybe you can do it.

If this isn’t an option for you, you can rest easy knowing there’s another free Blizzabelle skin you can get.

Red Blizzabelle

While the blue variant of this skin is for PC players only, the red style is available to all Fortnite players.

According to Fortnite leaker FireMonkey, the red variant is going to be a gift that gets opened up as part of Winterfest. This means that one of the presents you get for logging in during Winterfest will reward you it regardless of platform.

So, let’s sum it up. The blue style if only for PC, but you might be able to just install Fortnite on your computer to get it. The red style will be available to everybody. We don’t have much else information to share on this end.

If it’s anything like the Ruby Shadows bundle, something that was also available for PC players only, then we might see the red style hit the Item Shop at a later date. That’s what happened with Ruby Shadows, so it was like PC players just got an early access version of it, albeit for free.

On top of the skins, there are also more freebies being given out like the pickaxe in the above image. You’ll just want to make sure you log in each day so you don’t miss out on all of the free stuff.

Winterfest does run until January 6, so there will be plenty of time to enjoy the festivities, just make sure you don’t skip the free cosmetics!
